How to find Cafe Dongi on Dongseong-ro 3-gil
Cafe Dongi Dongseong-ro Main Branch is on the 2nd floor at 58-9 Dongseong-ro 3-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea. There's a big sign as you walk down the street so it's easy to spot!! Even I, someone with zero sense of direction, found it fine :)

There's a big banner out front too, and best of all, there's an elevator right there so you can head straight up :) Such a nice touch for busy office workers!

What lunchtime looks like, and ordering by tableside kiosk
Each table has its own kiosk so you can order comfortably! Cafe Dongi Dongseong-ro Main Branch is spacious and clean, making it a comfortable place to eat even during the lunch rush. The tables are spaced generously too, so there's no cramped feeling — overall a really pleasant atmosphere I liked!
I thought it'd be great for lunch with a friend on Dongseong-ro, or as a spot for office workers looking for lunch nearby. A place that comes to mind when you want a hearty Korean meal!

There's a hair tie at every seat so you can tie your hair back comfortably while you eat!!!
Such a thoughtful touch!!

The self-serve bar: unlimited barley gangjeong and fried eggs
At Cafe Dongi Dongseong-ro Main Branch's self-bar, fried eggs, five-grain rice and barley candy are all free and unlimited. If you visit... you absolutely have to try the barley candy!!!! Crunchy and sweet — I kept reaching for more, haha
And there's a super clean zone for making your own fried egg!

Unlimited fried eggs... it was so great!!! You just add as much oil as you like and fry it up, and sprinkling on the salt they provide made it absolutely delicious, haha. Instructions for the tastiest way to eat it were written right there, so thanks to that I had a really delicious lunch ~~

A serving robot brings the food to your table
The most impressive part of the day was definitely the food delivery robot. Your order gets delivered straight to your table by robot, and seeing it in person was even more fascinating than I expected!! More and more restaurants have this kind of system these days, but actually watching it happen right in front of me was still a lot of fun, haha

A full spread in the ₩10,000s — the best value part
What satisfied me most was?!
The value for money!
You get a meal for around ₩10,000s, but with such a wide variety of side dishes, each one delicious, it made for a really filling meal :)

Rice cooked with Gimpo geumssal rice
Cafe Dongi's rice is made with grade-1 Geumssal rice grown in Gimpo, in the pristine DMZ region. I guess Korean food does taste better when the rice itself is delicious~~

When I tasted the rice, the grains were tasty with a nutty flavor, and it was even more satisfying eaten together with the side dishes. I usually care a lot about how the rice tastes, and this day the rice itself was so good that I really enjoyed it.

How many side dishes come with the set meal?
With Korean food, having a lot of side dishes just puts you in a good mood, doesn't it~~~ I loved getting to try a variety of side dishes, and paired with the rice, it made for a completely satisfying meal. Honestly, thinking about it more...
Unlimited free fried eggs, five-grain rice, and barley candy — that's really the best part!!
And with the membership perks too, if you're an office worker in Daegu wondering where to have lunch, I'd definitely recommend coming here! You can enjoy the five-grain rice, and then finish off with barley candy — it felt like such a well-rounded meal~

The sauce that matched the spicy baby octopus
This sauce... why is it so good?!?!?! It goes so well with the salty, spicy octopus seasoning, and it's sweet enough that I kept going back for more!

Regulars' perks worth signing up for
Cafe Dongi was reportedly selected as Naver's Best Ordering Business of 2020. Knowing that so many people frequent this place made me trust it even more!! They also run a 15% discount on select menu items every month for loyal regulars, so if you eat nearby often, it's worth checking out these perks.

Overall, Cafe Dongi Dongseong-ro Main Branch was a fun visit — a spacious, comfortable dining room, a well-stocked self-bar, and even a fascinating food delivery robot!
Above all, the rice made with grade-1 Geumssal rice from the pristine DMZ region of Gimpo was delicious, and I was satisfied being able to enjoy a variety of side dishes and free unlimited items for around ₩10,000s.
If you're looking for a good restaurant on Dongseong-ro in Daegu, how about a hearty Korean lunch at Cafe Dongi Dongseong-ro Main Branch? I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good-value meal!
