On a trip to Jeju, I visited Cultured, a family restaurant in Ara-dong. Food quality, overall atmosphere, and value for money were all satisfying at this Jeju City spot — let me introduce it^^

Where is Cultured, and what are its hours and parking?

This Jeju City restaurant, Cultured, is located in Ara-dong Verache. About a minute's walk from the NongHyup Ido branch toward Hallasan, there's an Olive Young Ido branch, and Cultured is right across from it.

Inside Cultured: atmosphere and private rooms
The inside of Cultured was really spacious. With modern high ceilings and an open, expansive layout, it had a stylish, relaxed feel.
There were tons of tables and plenty of seats, so it would be perfect for family meals, dates, or all kinds of group gatherings.
There's a private room tucked away inside. Reserving it ahead of time for a gathering in a private space would be great.
Why Cultured's origin labeling stood out
There was an origin label posted, which really showed the owner's mindset. You could tell at a glance they were putting effort into using good ingredients. They listed Sindongjin rice from Muan, South Jeolla; oyster mushrooms from Gwangju, Gyeonggi; chicken and pork from Jeju; tomatoes and vegetables from South Jeolla; clams from Yeosu, South Jeolla; radish from Jeju; basil from Nonsan; zucchini from Jinju; cucumbers from Cheonan; king oyster mushrooms from Haenam, South Jeolla; eggplant from Naju, South Jeolla — and more. That commitment to keeping promises to customers is exactly why the food was so delicious and generous. Really moved by that~!!

What comes with the 38,500-won lunch set plus the 19,000-won risotto
We ordered the lunch set for ₩38,500 (choice of steak salad, gorgonzola pizza, or pomodoro pasta, plus a free drink) along with Cultured's spinach cream risotto (₩19,000).

The drinks came out first — zero-sugar cola and tangerine juice. This Jeju City restaurant gives out free drinks. I've been to a lot of restaurants, but Cultured is the first one to give a free drink^^

Steak salad at Cultured
The steak salad arrived. It was piled high on a huge plate and the portion was massive. Grilled vegetables and beef steak topped with balsamic sauce — there were all kinds of vegetables, plus a generous amount of chewy stir-fried beef.

The salad quality was great, the portion was huge, and the taste was excellent. I was happy the entire time I was eating it. Felt like we were being treated so well.

Cultured's signature spinach cream risotto
The spinach cream risotto is Cultured's signature menu item, so I had to try it. Tasting the signature dish tells you the level of everything else on the menu.
Maybe because they use Sindongjin rice, the risotto definitely had a different chewiness/stickiness. The spinach and cream flavors blended well, with a savory, deep umami taste. Mushrooms and zucchini were mixed in too, giving it an extra layer of flavor.

How big is the gorgonzola pizza at Cultured?

The gorgonzola pizza arrived, and I had no idea it would come out this huge. I was genuinely shocked at the size^^ One thing about this Jeju City restaurant — every dish comes out generously portioned and tastes great! The pizza was better than expected too. Honestly, we didn't realize how much food the set already included when we ordered this extra pizza^^ In the end we couldn't finish it and took it home haha

Pomodoro pasta at Cultured
The pomodoro pasta is a spicy pasta with bacon and jalapeño. The portion was generous and the quality was excellent too. You could see all the ingredients piled in without holding back. The care that went into the food came through the whole meal, and it made me happy throughout.

The grilled chicken on top of the savory spinach cream risotto had a nice smoky flavor and texture. The chewy grilled chicken paired really well with the risotto.

The pomodoro pasta is on the spicier side. The heat was just right and cut through any richness nicely. The base is a tomato sauce, so there's a tangy note too, plus a deep umami flavor overall.

Dipping the hot gorgonzola pizza in honey was so good^^
I liked that the pizza had a thin crust — even the dough had a pastry-like feel, making it that much more delicious.

Ask Cultured to box up the leftover pizza
Since every dish at this Jeju City restaurant is so generously portioned, we ended up with leftovers we couldn't finish. Normally I just leave leftover food behind, but the pizza at Cultured was so good I asked for a takeout box, and they brought one right over. We ate the boxed pizza later that evening at the pension. Even cold, it was still delicious and had a nice savory flavor.

If you want to take leftover pizza home, just ask a staff member. They'll give you a cute little box like this one^^
