Hi everyone~~ It's Friday, right before the weekend!! How about catching some cool Songjeong sea breeze after work today or this weekend, and eating a really good eel rice bowl~?

I recently went to Songjeong Beach in Busan and stopped by a Japanese restaurant famous for its eel rice bowl! It's Yuok, one of the well-known spots among Busan Songjeong restaurants! Everything from the eel bowl to the mackerel bowl was amazing.. so let's get into the honest review~

Where is Yuok in Songjeong, and how are parking and reservations?

Yuok is a Japanese restaurant located at 47 Songjeong Riverside-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, 1st floor, and you can park right in front of the restaurant. The exterior already has a Japanese vibe haha. I'd recommend driving there~

It's a great spot if you're exploring Songjeong restaurants, going for a drive around Songjeong, or taking your parents out to eat haha.

Since this is a hot spot for eel rice bowl, it's always crowded during lunch or dinner, so I'd recommend booking ahead or going right when it opens!

Inside Yuok: bar seats and tables

Yuok's interior overall has a Japanese feel, with lots of bar tables and only a few 4-person tables! You need to book ahead for groups of 4 or more~! It's good for solo dining too, and cozy enough to recommend for a date.

The water is roasted barley tea haha. Even the water is delicious!

On the table there's ginger and rakkyo (pickled shallots).

There's even a helpful guide on how to eat it. If anyone needs kimchi, just ask the staff separately haha.

Yay, it's finally here — it even looks so pretty ㅜ

Wow, first off the eel bowl sauce? The savory, salty smell was incredible haha. It comes topped with a big chunk of eel, sliced cleanly with a rice paddle!

The egg was also really thick and delicious. Eating it with the eel was seriously so good..! Just the right amount of sweet and salty, total rice thief haha. The rice was seasoned too, which made it even better.

The eel was so tender, no small bones at all, and it just melts in your mouth ㅜㅜ Absolutely zero fishy taste on the eel.. Afterward I ate the eel bowl plain, then with wasabi and seaweed flakes, and finally as ochazuke poured with broth, which was delicious too~ Yuok is a certified spot in Songjeong, Busan for a great eel rice bowl!

Saba ochazuke set, 17,000 won: how was the mackerel?

This is the saba ochazuke set. It's topped with mackerel, and this one is boneless too, so it was easy to eat.

I mashed up the flesh and ate it with the rice, and.. this was also so good. The clean mackerel flavor was surprisingly craveable haha.

It's also great topped with wasabi~ Making it into ochazuke later made it even better.. it cut through the richness and left my stomach feeling light haha.

Who is Yuok in Songjeong best for?

I tried two rice bowls at Yuok, a spot known for its eel rice bowl among Busan Songjeong restaurants, and as expected the eel bowl was really delicious and the saba ochazuke set was really good too haha. I think parents would love this place too!

The eel had zero fishy taste, was tender and slightly sweet — the best eel rice bowl among Songjeong restaurants in Busan! Finishing with ochazuke left me completely full haha. If you want a clean, genuinely delicious eel rice bowl in Songjeong, Busan, I recommend it!
