Gwangalli pasta restaurant with Bundaberg soda: Salmon Brothers

In short

Salmon Brothers is a Western-style restaurant on Gwangan-ro in Suyeong, Busan, serving giant salmon sushi alongside pasta. A truffle cream pasta and a Bundaberg grapefruit soda made the order here, with a thick cream sauce, springy noodles and mushroom and bacon topping that never turned heavy. Wide table spacing and bar seats for solo diners make Salmon Brothers an easy Gwangalli choice for both dates and eating alone.

One of those places I'd been curious about every time I walked past — the Gwangalli Western-style restaurant Salmon Brothers! It's known for its giant salmon sushi as well as pasta, so fans of salmon sushi might already know it. The owner was so kind too, which made for a pleasant meal — here's my review!

Second-floor entrance of Salmon Brothers

Salmon Brothers opens in the afternoon on weekdays, but opens earlier in the morning on weekends! It's also not far from Gwangan Station or the beach, so it's a very easy-to-reach Gwangalli Western-style restaurant.

Inside Salmon Brothers: bar seats and wide table spacing

Cozy, stylish interior of Salmon Brothers

The first thing that caught my eye walking in was the cozy, stylish interior! There are also bar seats set up for solo diners, so it feels totally fine to come alone.

Table set with plates and cutlery

Each table has plates and cutlery neatly set, so it strikes a nice balance — not too casual, not too fancy — making it a comfortable place to visit.

Widely spaced seating at Salmon Brothers

The tables are spaced pretty far apart, so if you come with a partner or friends you can chat comfortably without worrying about the next table over ~

Group reservations and private bookings are also available, so it'd be a good spot for engagement gatherings or various small get-togethers.

Each seat also has a rattan basket for your belongings, which was such a thoughtful little touch it made me happy haha ~ I visited during the day, but I feel like coming in the evening with a glass of wine would be really atmospheric too.

The lineup starts with salmon and goes to giant salmon sushi, flounder sushi, and all kinds of pasta and pilaf ~~ It's a whole collection of delicious Western-style dishes, so it was fun just picking what to order haha

What I ordered: truffle cream pasta and Bundaberg grapefruit soda

🔖 Order List — Truffle cream pasta, Bundaberg grapefruit soda

✔️ Bundaberg Grapefruit Soda — the tart-sweet grapefruit flavor really came through, and the cute little bear on the ice was a scene-stealer. It kept my palate refreshed in between bites, so it paired really well with the cream.

A plate of thick truffle cream pasta

✔️ Truffle Cream Pasta — the sauce was quite thick and velvety, which made it look even more delicious and got my expectations up!

The noodles were springy and firm, with the sauce clinging to them completely rather than separating — very satisfying.

A bite of pasta coated in thick cream sauce

The thick cream sauce had a sweet-and-savory balance that felt like it would please pretty much anyone. I had it with the Bundaberg, but I think it would also pair really well with wine bb

The topping of soft mushrooms and plenty of bacon made every bite even more delicious haha

Pasta with rich cream and bacon combined

With rich, savory cream and generous salty bacon in every bite, I found myself giving an involuntary thumbs up with each forkful.

Even though it's cream, there was zero greasiness all the way to the end — good enough that I scraped up every last bit of sauce.

Is Salmon Brothers worth a visit? 💭

The table at Salmon Brothers after finishing the meal

I only tried the pasta, but it exceeded my expectations so much that I want to go on a mission to try every other menu item too haha. Great food and great atmosphere — I can't help but recommend it for a date ,, haha. If you're looking for a good Gwangalli Western-style restaurant for a date, definitely bring your partner along 🤍
