Gwangmyeong jjukkumi restaurant with king prawn fritters: Jeongipum
In short
Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch is a griddled jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried baby octopus) restaurant about 589m from Gwangmyeong Station in Gyeonggi. Two of us ordered two servings of the black pork belly jjukkumi loaded with extra toppings (19,500 won per person) at the mild spice level, added two king prawn fritters (4,500 won) and finished with minari fried rice. Even spice-shy eaters can handle the mild level here, and the pork and minari (water dropwort) cook right on the same griddle.

I was craving something spicy near Gwangmyeong Station, so I stopped by Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch. It's a place where you can enjoy jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried baby octopus), black pork flower pork belly, and minari (water dropwort) all together on one griddle. We had two servings of the black pork flower pork belly with extra sides, plus two king prawn fritters and minari fried rice. You can choose from three spice levels, and I went with the mild one — it was spicy enough even for a spice wimp like me haha ^^

Which of the three spice levels should you pick?
At Jeongipum Jjukkumi Gwangmyeong 1st Branch, you can pick your own spice level when ordering. It's presented in three stages: mild (jin ramyeon), regular (shin ramyeon), and very spicy (buldak). I didn't want it too intense, so I went with mild. Being able to choose the spice level makes it easy to order to your taste.
Jjukkumi with black pork belly on one griddle
Our main order was the griddled jjukkumi with extra sides and black pork flower pork belly, two servings. At ₩19,500 per person, it comes with jjukkumi, black pork flower pork belly, cabbage, minari, and rice cakes.

It's not just jjukkumi — you get black pork flower pork belly and minari all at once. The staff cooked it for us, so we just waited until everything was done to perfection. As it bubbled away, the sauce coated everything evenly, and once the minari mixed in, the aroma really came alive.

The jjukkumi had a great chewy texture, and it paired well with the savory flower pork belly. I especially loved eating jjukkumi, pork belly, and minari all together in one bite. If you're looking for jjukkumi in Gwangmyeong and want meat with it too, you have to try this place ^^ Wrapped in a sesame leaf with flying fish roe on top — the perfect bite haha.

Free steamed egg to cool the spice
Steamed egg (gyeranjjim) comes free as a side. ✨😍 Pairing the soft steamed egg with the spicy jjukkumi worked really well.

Having steamed egg in between the spicy bites was just right.
Adding two king prawn fritters for 4,500 won
The king prawn fritters come two pieces for ₩4,500. There were two of us, so ordering just two was perfect — one each.

The crispy fritters brought a nice change of texture between bites of spicy jjukkumi, making a great side dish.
Finishing with minari fried rice
After finishing the griddled jjukkumi, we couldn't skip the fried rice haha. We added one order of minari fried rice.
The rice gets fried in the leftover sauce with minari mixed in, giving it a fragrant flavor. Scraping up the slightly crisped bits stuck to the griddle was its own kind of delicious lol.

They told us to toast the leftover gim (seaweed) like this — and it was so good haha. Personally, I feel like the meal isn't complete without that final minari fried rice! Between the two of us, we finished two servings of the black pork flower pork belly with extra sides, two king prawn fritters, and one minari fried rice — we were stuffed.
Is Jeongipum Jjukkumi worth it near Gwangmyeong Station?
If you're looking for jjukkumi near Gwangmyeong Station and want meat alongside it, Jeongipum has the black pork flower pork belly menu for that. Jjukkumi + black pork flower pork belly + minari, finished off with fried rice — that was our combination. It's also worth remembering that you can choose from three spice levels to match your preference. It's close to Gwangmyeong Station and makes for a good meal after visiting AK Plaza or IKEA, so if you're looking for a restaurant near IKEA Gwangmyeong, this is worth checking out too.
