Grilled hairtail set meal near Yongnuni Oreum, Jeju: Jongdal Sudatteul

In short

Jongdal Sudatteul is a 13-side-dish Korean set meal restaurant on Yongnuni Oreum-ro in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City. Two of us ordered the Jeju hanjeongsik for two (25,000 won per person), which came with grilled hairtail, dombegogi (sliced boiled pork), mackerel kimchi stew and a seafood hot pot, plus free refills of bracken fern and soy-marinated crab from the self-serve bar. The grilled hairtail at Jongdal Sudatteul — crisp outside, moist inside — was the standout, and writing a review earned a glass of carrot juice pressed from the owners' own carrots.

Today I'm bringing you my review of Jongdal Sudatteul, a Jeju hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) spot that's so good I feel like I'd go back even without the sponsorship,,,,

Where is Jongdal Sudatteul, and is there parking?

As the name suggests, Jongdal Sudatteul is located in Jongdal-ri, at 8 Yongnuni Oreum-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do. And most importantly, there's a big parking lot right next to the restaurant!

Spacious and clean interior of Jongdal Sudatteul
Interior seating at Jongdal Sudatteul, good for family visits

I couldn't get a shot of where the other guests were sitting, but the interior is really spacious and clean, so it seems like a great fit for family visits too! I'd recommend it for group trips and family trips — it seems like a place both kids and adults would enjoy without complaint. The whole restaurant felt very well kept and clean overall~~

Opening hours and the Naver reservation discount

Jongdal Sudatteul is open daily from 09:30 to 21:00. No closed days, no break time — open from morning to evening every day, which was nice because there was no risk of showing up for nothing.

If you book ahead through Naver, you can get a 10% discount coupon, so I'd definitely recommend reserving before you go. I actually made my reservation the same day I arrived at the restaurant~

Swapping to braised hairtail adds ₩4,000 per person, and for an extra ₩12,000 you can upgrade the rice to abalone hot pot rice or sea urchin bibimbap~

There are also several single-serving menu options for solo travelers :) We ordered the Jeju hanjeongsik for two!

The 13-side-dish Jeju set meal: how much food do you get?

The Jongdal Sudatteul Jeju hanjeongsik for two doesn't look that big in photos, but it was honestly a massive spread haha. We were super hungry, so this generous table fully recharged our happiness ~

Self-serve refills: bracken fern and soy-marinated crab

I loved that at Jongdal Sudatteul, you can help yourself to extra side dishes. There are delicious seasoned vegetable dishes, and you can even refill the soy-marinated crab as much as you want! I love bracken fern side dish so I went back for seconds haha. Dishes like these aren't always easy to eat regularly, so being able to help myself to as much as I wanted made me really happy!

The moist dombegogi was boiled just right, so tender it made me want more...

The best dish: grilled hairtail, crisp outside and moist inside

But in my personal opinion, the tastiest thing at Jongdal Sudatteul is this soft, crispy yet clean-tasting grilled hairtail. My friend and I were so surprised at how good this grilled hairtail was!! I never knew hairtail could be this delicious...! Crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside — we ate it up so happily~~

Marinated abalone, seasoned bean sprouts, and doenjang-stuffed peppers too~~ I ate the whole set-meal spread with so much joy haha

Fresh-pressed carrot juice for writing a review

If you write a review on Naver or Kakao Map, they give you this fresh-pressed carrot juice made from carrots they grow themselves! Carrot juice at a café usually costs 7,000-8,000 won, so this is such a great deal~~ Turns out they actually have their own carrot farm~~? It's healthy, real carrot juice with zero added sugar,,,, definitely write a review and grab some !! haha
