Jeju black pork BBQ for four with kimchi fried rice: Pork80

In short

Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch is a Jeju black pork BBQ restaurant in Noheong-dong, Jeju City, known for its appearance on Choiza Road. Four diners shared one plate of nanchuk matdon (premium black pork) with bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles) and kimchi fried rice, and staff grilled the thick cuts at the table, so there was nothing to do but wait and eat. The pork was pleasantly chewy, but the kimchi fried rice at the end was the most memorable part of the meal.

Whenever you travel to Jeju, black pork is one of those things you just have to eat at least once! This time we visited Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch in Noheong-dong, Jeju City, not far from the airport. This place is also known for appearing on Choiza Road, so I'd been curious about it as a Jeju black pork spot — and it was pretty great!! The staff grilled the meat for us so we could eat comfortably, and there was so much to enjoy alongside it, from bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) to seasoned crab, that it was a solid choice whenever you're craving black pork in Jeju. Let's get into the review.

Right at the entrance, they proudly feature its appearance on Choiza Road!! Jeju has so many great black pork restaurants that it's hard to choose, and this is the one I picked!

The interior had plenty of seating and felt nice! Quite a lot of customers too, haha.

What four people ordered at Pork80: one nanchuk matdon plate, bibim guksu and kimchi fried rice

There were four of us, so we ordered one plate of nanchuk matdon, plus bibim guksu and kimchi fried rice. I thought it might be a small amount, but it was really a lot. One thing I really want to mention here is the kimchi fried rice! Don't just fill up on meat and leave — if you have any room left, please try the kimchi fried rice too, ㅠㅠ. The meat was delicious that day, but Pork80's kimchi fried rice was so good that I kept reaching for it right up to the end!!

What side dishes come with black pork at Pork80?

The basic side dishes at Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch were a good pairing for the meat — kimchi, pickled onions, and jangajji (pickled vegetables) — plus a generous portion of shredded scallions.

There was also a macaroni salad, a nice side to pick at now and then, so even before the meat arrived we kept snacking on this and that.

How thick is the nanchuk matdon black pork, and how does it taste?

Finally, the meat we ordered arrived!!! It came out generously piled on one plate — thick-cut pork with scallions and mushrooms — and even raw, the cuts looked impressively thick. Truly chewy through and through!!

Can't skip the Hallasan soju, haha.

The meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) was really tasty. Not fishy at all.

Staff grill the black pork at your table at Pork80

What made Pork80 so convenient was that the staff grilled the meat for us. Thick cuts of pork are easy to mess up — the outside can burn before the inside cooks properly — but since they grilled it for us, all we had to do was wait and enjoy.

The texture was truly chewy. Despite being thick, it wasn't tough at all — it had a springy, chewy bite with plenty of juiciness, and the meat itself was delicious.

They even had seasoned crab, a proper rice thief!!! One bite of meat, one bite of crab, and it was a completely different flavor each time, which was great for switching up the palate along the way.

Finishing the meal with kimchi fried rice and bibim guksu

After eating a good amount of meat, we ordered the kimchi fried rice we'd been waiting for! It came out in a large pan, piled high with shredded scallions and topped with two soft fried eggs. The look alone was hard to pass up, and honestly, I'd recommend ordering this even if you're already a little full, ㅠㅠ.

The portion size is no joke.

The bibim guksu was also amazing!! This was my dad's favorite, haha.

It comes topped with plenty of meat too. Overall, a really satisfying meal at Pork80 in Jeju.
