After-work meetup at a Paju Unjeong lamb skewer spot: Sannaemaeul

Today, on a spontaneous after-work meetup, I went looking for a good spot near Unjeong Homeplus and ended up trying a lamb skewer specialty restaurant for the very first time haha

I'd only had lamb skewers in a Chinatown before, never at a specialty place, and it was a total revelation. Once again I realized how important firsthand experience really is ^^

From lamb skewers with no gamey taste and soft, savory meat, to crispy-chewy guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) that recreated authentic flavors — my visit to Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao was perfect. Let's get into it!

Where is Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao in Unjeong, Paju?

Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is located at 573 Chaekhyanggi-ro, World Tower 3, 2nd fl, Unit 205, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Already well known as a top Chinese restaurant in Paju, it's easy to find and sits in the main shopping complex of Sannaemaeul, so access is great.

It's also a perfect stop before or after a walk around Unjeong Lake Park.

Inside the restaurant: seating and air conditioning

Head up to the 2nd floor and a clean, tidy restaurant welcomes you. If you've hesitated to visit a grilled meat place in summer because of the charcoal heat, no worries here — 4 air conditioners run at full blast and every seat has its own fan, so you can enjoy your meal in comfort.

Every table has a tablet installed, so you can order small portions or add just one more serving without feeling self-conscious 👍 The owner was generous and clearly knew and took pride in the food. True to a Chinese restaurant specialty, the menu is really diverse.

How much are the lamb skewers and guobaorou?

At Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao, lamb skewers are ₩13,000 for 8 skewers, and lamb rib meat skewers are ₩14,000 for 8 skewers. Today's star dishes were the lamb skewers slowly turning on the grill and the guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) made in authentic style!

The basic side dishes were pickled radish (jjazai) and spicy radish salad (musaengchae), and the musaengchae was seriously delicious.

How do the lamb skewers taste? Juicy, with no gamey smell

There was absolutely no gamey taste and the meat was so juicy — I really enjoyed every bite. Who knew lamb skewers could be this delicious!!

Pairing it with the crispy, chewy guobaorou made from fresh ingredients and freshly fried, I forgot all about dieting and just kept eating.

Is Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao good for evening meetups and team dinners?

Sannaemaeul Yang Kkochi & Qingdao is open from 5pm, so I highly recommend it for evening meetups or work dinners. If you're craving lamb skewers with no gamey taste and proper Chinese food, don't hesitate to stop by.
