Lunch at Jeongwon Galbi after shopping at Shinsegae Premium Outlets Paju
Hi, this is Chugu, traveling while running. After finishing my shopping at Paju Shinsegae Premium Outlets, I was trying to decide on lunch and pork ribs came to mind, so I headed to Jeongwon Galbi.

I'd been shopping for quite a while and was getting pretty hungry, so I looked for somewhere I could eat a hearty meal, and that's how I ended up at Jeongwon Galbi Paju.

Jeongwon Galbi is a charcoal grill restaurant specializing in pork ribs and beef ribs. Parking is available, and with group seating, private rooms, and even high chairs, it's a good spot for a family meal or a gathering.

Inside Jeongwon Galbi, a grill house near the Paju outlets

The inside of Jeongwon Galbi, a great pork rib spot in Paju, was pretty spacious. It'd be a good place to visit with family or for a gathering.
There's also a separate section inside, which looked good for group reservations.
Ribs eaten, plum tea ready — all set!
Open as usual during Chuseok holiday! Keep this in mind if you're planning a family meal over the holiday.
All the side dishes on the table can be refilled at the self-bar.
Jeongwon Galbi menu and prices: what we ordered

After finishing our shopping at Paju Shinsegae Premium Outlets, we were starving, so we ordered two servings of Jeongwon pork ribs, cold noodles, and a soybean paste rice bowl.
- Jeongwon pork ribs ₩16,900
- Beef brisket soybean paste rice bowl ₩9,000
- Cold noodles (mul-naengmyeon) ₩8,000

We had reserved ahead, and when we arrived everything was already set up like this. Thank you — we were starving, after all.
Jeongwon Galbi side dishes, refillable at the self-bar
All the side dishes can be refilled at the self-bar. There was no japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) at first, but when I asked staff, they brought some out.
The crunchy geotjeori (fresh kimchi) catches my eye first.
Seasoned crab! Even though we were already full from the ribs, soybean paste rice bowl, and cold noodles, this one nearly made us order extra rice just for it.

Refreshing chicory salad!

The japchae was just a welcome bonus.

Personally I love pickled sides! There's perilla leaves, cucumber, onion, and radish.
Two servings of charcoal-grilled Jeongwon pork ribs, 16,900 won each
The main pork ribs arrived. Jeongwon pork ribs, well-aged in a special sauce! The look alone already passes the test.

Now that the meat is here, they bring the charcoal too. The heat is really strong.

Let's put the meat on.
While the meat cooks, let's start with the seasoned crab. Packed full of meat! This alone could go with a whole bowl of rice.
Marinated galbi can sometimes get overwhelming after just a few bites if the seasoning is too strong, but this one paired well with rice and other side dishes.

What I liked most was the way the sauce lightly caramelized on the meat's surface while grilling over charcoal. That sweet flavor typical of marinated pork ribs, combined with the smoky charcoal aroma, kept me reaching for one piece after another.

Pork ribs are great on their own, but wrapped in lettuce or paired with onion, they had a whole different flavor.

Adding cold noodles and beef brisket doenjang rice bowl
You can't have marinated galbi without cold noodles, right? We know our stuff, so we tried the mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles) too.

The rice sits in warm soybean paste broth, easy to scoop up spoonful after spoonful, and the beef brisket adds a savory note that went well with the pork ribs.
Especially after eating meat, you start craving warm broth or rice, so instead of ordering steamed rice and soybean paste stew separately, finishing with just the beef brisket soybean paste rice bowl was a good call. I'm a rice person, after all.
Pork ribs off the grill: how did they taste?
How do you grill marinated pork ribs? Nothing complicated — just cut it into bite-sized pieces and roll it around with tongs, and it'll cook naturally.

Let's start with a hearty spoonful of the soybean paste rice bowl first.

A piece of meat on onion, one bite.

A big wrap with garlic was hearty and delicious too. Jeongwon Galbi was where I went after shopping at Paju Shinsegae Premium Outlets, wanting a filling dinner. This time, with two servings of Jeongwon pork ribs as the main, plus cool cold noodles and warm beef brisket soybean paste rice bowl, it was a meal where I properly enjoyed everything from meat to a full course.
Especially for anyone like me who's shopped at Paju Shinsegae Premium Outlets and wants a filling meal of meat, cold noodles, and a warm soybean paste rice bowl, this course fit the bill perfectly.
