Solo daytime drinking okonomiyaki spot in Seongsu: Oshi Black Seongsu
In short
Oshi Black Seongsu is an okonomiyaki teppan restaurant in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, walkable from Seoul Forest Station and Ttukseom Station. Taking a half-day off work, the writer sat solo at the bar table and had Oshi Modanyaki with a Kirin Ichiban draft beer, the noodles, cabbage and meat packed in and crisp outside, tender inside, staying warm to the last bite thanks to the teppan's residual heat. Recommended if you're looking for a comfortable spot in Seongsu for solo drinking or daytime drinks.

Oshi Black Seongsu A Seongsu daytime drinking okonomiyaki spot, recommended for solo drinks..!
Last week was so delicious,, I took a half-day off work and enjoyed Seongsu solo. I hit up okonomiyaki and daytime beer at Oshi Black Seongsu, and the vibe was so comfortable and the food so tasty that it's definitely a place I'll go back to again and again and again,,
Walking from Seoul Forest Station — how's the wait?
The restaurant is a good walking distance from both Ttukseom Station (Line 2) and Seoul Forest Station (Suin-Bundang Line)! I got off at Seoul Forest Station and strolled over, and since it's not a busy street, it was perfect for a little walk in this weather.
I heard weekends and evening peak times can have quite a wait, but since I came at an odd hour on a weekday, I got in right away! For weekends or evening hours, I'd recommend booking ahead through Catch Table haha.
A black-toned space where the teppan cooking doesn't cling to you
The interior looks like this. A heavy black tone that suits the name Oshi Black perfectly. Even though it's teppan cooking, the ventilation is so good that the space never feels stuffy or loud — it's clean. (No smell clinging to your clothes either.) It'd be great for a blind date or a date night too..!!

There are regular tables and a bar table — since I came alone, I sat at the bar table.
What I chose sitting solo: Oshi Modanyaki
Sitting down and looking at the menu, there were more types of okonomiyaki than I expected. I went back and forth between the noodle-topped Modanyaki and yakisoba, but since Modanyaki seemed to be the signature dish, I ordered the Oshi Modanyaki. Besides draft beer, there are also quite a lot of highballs and sake options, so it'd be perfect for a second round in the evening too.

The cucumber salad — pickle? — that I liked so much I ate it twice. Refreshing and crunchy, it went so well with the okonomiyaki. They also gave mint candies to have after the meal, and the heart-shaped case was so cute, thank you owner. .

Daytime beer: Kirin Ichiban
You can't have okonomiyaki without draft beer, and my favorite is Kirin Ichiban. The daytime beer was so, so refreshing and delicious. If I hadn't had plans afterward, I definitely would have had two or three more glasses. ,
Oshi Modanyaki is the noodle-topped okonomiyaki, so they stir-fry the noodles with such flashy moves.. . It's also packed full of cabbage, which I love.

Then they top it with meat. You can watch the whole process happen in real time, which is fun to watch and makes you even hungrier(?). Even if you're not alone, it'd be nice to watch together with company and chat.

The black sesame tomato salad from the review event
The black sesame tomato salad that came out while I waited. You get it if you participate in the review event, and it was genuinely so delicious. Really nutty, fresh, and perfect for whetting the appetite. Please, please, please have this..!!!
The highlight of okonomiyaki.. . They drizzle on plenty of sauce too

The finished Oshi Modanyaki — why it stays warm to the end
Oshi Modanyaki, complete, ,. It's cooked on the large central teppan, and once done, it's moved to the small teppan in front of each seat. There's even a little spatula-like tool so you can scoop it onto your own plate.

Inside, it's packed with noodles, cabbage, and meat like this. The variety of textures and the dense, hearty feel are so good. (Totally crisp outside, tender inside.) Maybe thanks to the teppan's residual heat, it stays freshly-warm all the way through. I want to eat it again . . .

The vibe was great and the staff were so kind that I had such a comfortable time. A place that's great whether you come alone or with company..!

There was a cute little questionnaire card at the table, so I filled it out and left it stuck there before I left haha.
A good spot for solo drinking or daytime drinks in Seongsu
A place that perfectly filled the leisure of a weekday half-day off . . The food was so delicious and the space so calm that I felt good the whole time I was there. If you're looking for a comfortable space in Seongsu for daytime drinks or solo drinking, I recommend Oshi Black, an okonomiyaki spot worth trying ᰔ
