I wanted something a little more special than just an ordinary dinner date, so I went to Allegro 🎷 where you can enjoy live jazz and a meal together. I visited especially for an anniversary this time, and getting to eat great food in a moody space while listening to live music right in front of me made it a night I won't forget.

It's not just a jazz bar where you watch a show — the food menu ranges from salads to pasta to steak, so it really suited an anniversary date spot haha.

A brick building in Songpa: take the elevator to the 3rd floor

Allegro sits on the 3rd floor of a building with a brick look that stands out even from a distance. It can be a little confusing where to go in on your first visit, but once you're inside the building, just take the elevator up 😊

Press 3 in the elevator and Allegro is right there when the doors open. Since it's a jazz performance venue, there's already a special atmosphere from the entrance 🎶

Allegro's lunch event at midday

We visited for the evening show, but if you go for lunch, check out the lunch event too. At the time of our visit, the sign showed pasta for ₩16,000 with an extra 15% off haha. Event details can change depending on when you visit, so I'd recommend checking current availability before you go 😊

Allegro's menu, from pasta to steak

I thought Allegro would just be a place for a few casual drinks alongside a show, but the food menu turned out to be surprisingly varied. From salads and appetizers to pasta, carbonara, steak and side dishes, it was more than enough for a proper dinner 🍝🥩

Arriving a bit early before the show started, ordering food, chatting, and then naturally flowing into the performance — that course was really nice.

Soft lighting, hall seats and terrace seats at Allegro

When you arrive on the 3rd floor, soft lighting greets you first ✨. The lighting isn't too bright and the whole atmosphere feels calm, which suited the jazz show perfectly from the moment I walked in. For anniversaries or dates, the atmosphere matters as much as the food, and it won me over from the first impression haha.

Inside, there's a performance stage in the center with hall tables and terrace seats around it 🎹. We wanted to watch the show up close, so we took a side seat at the hall tables. Close to the stage but not directly facing it, so it wasn't overwhelming — I was personally happy with the seat choice.

Terrace seats with a Lotte Tower view

This is the terrace seating, and the Lotte Tower view out the window is pretty, right? 🌃 If you want to watch the show up close, the hall tables are great, and if you want to relax more and enjoy the outside view too, the terrace seats have their own appeal. The vibe is different, so it's worth choosing based on what kind of date you're after.

The side seat right in front of the drums

Our seat was right in front of the drums. Looking at the whole stage, it's still on the side, so we didn't feel too exposed facing the performers head-on, but it was still great for taking in the whole show 🥁. If you want to feel the instruments and the playing up close and vividly, I'd personally recommend the front seats haha.

Show times, Catchtable booking and how much the show fee is

The show was split into 1st and 2nd sets, and since we wanted to eat dinner while watching, we booked the 7:30pm show through Catchtable 🎫. We arrived around 7pm, ordered food ahead of time and chatted, and just as we started eating, the show naturally began — the timing was perfect.

At the time of our visit, the show fee was ₩10,000 on weekdays and ₩15,000 on Fridays and Saturdays. Since schedules and fees can change, check the current info when you book 😊

Starting light with Allegro's seafood salad

We ordered seafood salad, puttanesca, and sous-vide pork steak. The seafood salad we ate first had a tangy flavor that perked up the appetite, making it a great appetizer 🥗. Mussels, shrimp, olives, tomatoes and more were all mixed in evenly, so it was nice to get a variety of ingredients in each bite. It was the perfect light start before getting into the pasta and steak.

Bread came out beforehand too — crispy on the outside and soft enough on the inside 🥖. We nibbled on it alongside the salad while waiting for the mains.

I don't remember the exact names, but we each ordered a cocktail-style drink and a draft beer 🍸🍺. Coming to see a live jazz show, you can't skip a light drink to match the mood haha.

Puttanesca piled with arugula

The puttanesca was a tomato-oil based pasta piled high with arugula 🍝. The bright tomato flavor blended well with the arugula, making it a nice follow-up to the salad.

The portion was more generous than expected, good for sharing between two. Since it's a place where you eat while watching a show, I thought the food would be light, but each dish was hearty enough to really enjoy haha.

Good food, good atmosphere, cheers 🥂. Chatting and eating leisurely before the show started was really nice. It felt distinctly different from a regular restaurant dinner date, and I was glad we came for the anniversary haha.

The live jazz set that began mid-meal

Around the time we'd started eating, the live jazz we'd been waiting for kicked off 🎷🎶. Great food in front of us and a live performance right there on stage — it really felt like a treat for both eyes and ears at once. Hearing each instrument up close, unlike listening to a recording, is what makes live shows special.

What stuck with me most was that the drummer also sang 🥁🎤. The drumming alone was impressive, and seeing him sing on top of that kept drawing my eyes back haha. I got some of it on video, but the atmosphere in person was way better.

Around the time we were eating the salad and pasta, the sous-vide pork steak arrived 🥩. With the show already underway, listening to live music while eating a warm steak really felt like a proper dinner date haha.

Allegro's tender sous-vide pork steak

Since the pork shoulder was sous-vide cooked, the texture was tender and moist. It paired well with the creamy sauce that came with it — better with plenty of sauce than eating the meat alone 😋

Cutting into it with a knife, it sliced smoothly without much effort. Fries came alongside, good with the pork, and paired with the pasta and salad, the menu combo was satisfying.

Eating the meat, pasta and salad one by one while the jazz kept playing right in front of us 🎷 — instead of a rushed dinner, we could take our time enjoying the show, which was really healing 😊

Honest review of the jazz show at Allegro

Allegro's jazz show and dinner were so good it was hard to leave 🎷. It wasn't just about eating well — getting to enjoy a live jazz show alongside the meal made it far more memorable than an ordinary dinner date.

From seafood salad to puttanesca to sous-vide pork steak, the meal was hearty enough, and best of all was getting to enjoy live music up close. If you're looking for a slightly special date spot for an anniversary or birthday, I'd recommend this place 💕 Visiting for an anniversary made it even more memorable haha.
