Couple lunch with sujebi jjamppong and jjajangmyeon: Jjamppong Jijon
In short
Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is a Chinese restaurant on Teheran-ro 10-gil near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. For lunch, a couple ordered sujebi jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, and glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork for a combined 42,500 won, and learned that sujebi jjamppong swaps out the noodles for hand-torn dough instead of adding both. Two noodle dishes plus one sweet-and-sour pork turned out to be a satisfying, affordable lunch combo for two.

Today I want to introduce a Chinese restaurant my boyfriend and I visited for a daily lunch in Yeoksam! It wasn't a special occasion — we just couldn't decide what to eat and both of us were craving Chinese food, so off we went for jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) haha.
The place I visited is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch! I always think of Chinese dishes like jjamppong and jjajangmyeon when I want something quick, but this time just ordering one noodle dish each felt a little lacking, so we added sweet-and-sour pork too and really went for it 🤭

The atmosphere at Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch
📍 Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch. The moment we walked in, I noticed how clean and tidy the interior was overall! The tables and general vibe were well organized, so it was comfortable to sit and eat, and it felt like a good spot for a casual lunch.
You might imagine a Chinese restaurant as a bit chaotic or messy, but this place had a clean interior that made a great first impression :) My boyfriend and I sat down comfortably and picked out our menu!!

What we ordered for two, and the price
🍜 Ordering at Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch. There were two of us, and here's what we ordered!
- Sujebi jjamppong (hand-torn dough soup) ₩13,000
- Jjajangmyeon ₩9,500
- Glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork ₩20,000
Total: ₩42,500! We ordered a fairly wide variety for a lunch for two, but once we actually ate it, the portions and the combination both felt just right. Having jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, and sweet-and-sour pork all together meant we each got a noodle dish and could also share the pork.
Personally, I thought this combination would work well if two people are visiting. Sharing several dishes instead of each ordering just one felt much more filling, and the price wasn't too heavy for everything we ate together, so the value felt pretty good 👍🏻

Sujebi jjamppong doesn't come with noodles
🌶️ Sujebi jjamppong ₩13,000. First up, the dish I ordered! The sujebi jjamppong caught my eye that day, so I picked it instead of the regular jjamppong. The broth had that signature spicy, rich jjamppong flavor, but with sujebi (hand-torn dough pieces) in place of noodles, giving it a different feel from a regular jjamppong.
Eating the warm sujebi with the broth was honestly quite tasty haha. The dough went so well with the soup that I kept reaching for more, bite after bite.
But here's the important part! ☝🏻 When I first saw the menu name, I wondered if it would come with both noodles and sujebi! But that's not the case — sujebi jjamppong replaces the noodles with sujebi entirely. In other words: noodles + sujebi ❌ / sujebi + jjamppong broth ⭕. Keep that in mind!
If you're like me and order thinking 'I'll get to eat both sujebi and noodles!', this is definitely something to check before ordering haha. If you love noodles, go for the regular jjamppong; if you love sujebi, I'd recommend the sujebi jjamppong :)

Jjajangmyeon ₩9,500, the fun of alternating bites with jjamppong
🖤 Jjajangmyeon ₩9,500. And my boyfriend's order — jjajangmyeon! Of course you can't skip jjajangmyeon at a Chinese restaurant haha. It also pairs really well with jjamppong, which made it perfect for us to order one each and share.
Going from the spicy kick of jjamppong to a bite of sweet, savory jjajangmyeon was genuinely fun to alternate between. If you're visiting as a pair, I'd recommend one jjamppong plus one jjajangmyeon so you both get to try different flavors! We ended up stealing bites from each other's bowls to compare them haha. That's the fun of dining together, isn't it 🤭

Glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork ₩20,000, the perfect side
🥢 Glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork ₩20,000. And today's side dish — the glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork! Priced at ₩20,000. Just having noodle dishes felt a bit lacking for the two of us, so we added this too, and in the end it was worth ordering.
When you keep eating jjamppong or jjajangmyeon, don't you start craving something crispy in between? That's exactly when picking up a piece of sweet-and-sour pork hits the spot haha. Pairing the spicy jjamppong broth with the crispy, chewy texture of the pork worked really well together. Sharing it on top of the noodle dishes made the whole meal feel much more filling!!

How was the portion for two?
🍽️ There were two of us that day, and eating sujebi jjamppong + jjajangmyeon + glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork together felt just right. At first we thought 'Did we order too much?' but once the food arrived, it turned out to be a great amount for two haha.
Of course, appetite varies from person to person, but if you're two people with an average appetite, ordering like we did and sharing should work well! More than anything, eating multiple dishes together instead of just one felt like a properly satisfying lunch 😋

Total for lunch for two: ₩42,500
💰 To sum up what we ordered that day: 🍜 sujebi jjamppong ₩13,000 / 🍜 jjajangmyeon ₩9,500 / 🥢 glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork ₩20,000, totaling ₩42,500. We ordered quite a variety for a lunch for two, but the price wasn't too heavy at all. If you're visiting as a pair and thinking 'let's just try a bunch of good stuff today,' this kind of order is worth considering :)

Final thoughts
💛 We didn't go for any special occasion that day — just an ordinary date with a daily lunch. But we ended up eating better than expected, so it was a satisfying meal! The interior was clean and comfortable, and it was nice being able to enjoy basic Chinese dishes like jjamppong and jjajangmyeon alongside sweet-and-sour pork.
If two of you are visiting like we did, I'd recommend the sujebi jjamppong + jjajangmyeon + glutinous rice sweet-and-sour pork combo to share several dishes! But again, remember that sujebi jjamppong doesn't come with both noodles and sujebi — it swaps the noodles out for sujebi. If you want to eat both noodles and sujebi, ordering jjajangmyeon or another noodle dish alongside it, like we did, is a good way to go haha.
If you're ever stuck on what to eat for lunch in Yeoksam and want a hearty Chinese meal in a clean space, this place is worth a visit! It was just an ordinary lunch with my boyfriend, but leaving full and satisfied made for a good day 🍜💛
