Since I was out running errands alone, I stopped by Ola Poke Gangnam for lunch! Poke really is unbeatable when you want something light and healthy that's also great for eating solo, haha.

The vibe and solo seating at Ola Poke near Gangnam Station

The interior has an overall orange accent color, giving it a fresh, bright feel. The moment I walked in, I got the impression that the place was very clean and well-managed. There were a lot of straight bar-table seats set up, so eating alone here felt totally comfortable, no awkward vibes at all. Since this whole area is an office district, I bet office workers pack the place during lunch and after work!

Every single seat comes with its own outlet and phone stand! So many people watch videos on their phones while eating alone, so being able to prop your phone up and charge it while eating was genuinely convenient.

An ordering system where you pick your own rice-to-salad ratio

I ordered the original tuna poke with added chicken breast. What was really great here was being able to choose the ratio of rice to salad. Most other places only let you pick between rice or just vegetables, but here you can choose by ratio. So I comfortably went with 7 salad : 3 rice. Being able to fine-tune the ratio like this is a huge advantage when you're managing your diet or watching your carb intake. I was a little unsure which sauce to pick, so I went with the staff's recommended sauce option again. Interestingly, you actually pick two sauces total — a base sauce and a topping sauce. Since I didn't know much about it, I just went with the staff's recommendation for both, haha.

I was so hungry I ordered in a rush, and this is the recommended sauce info they had.

Water station with mouthwash and hair ties

As I mentioned, since it's near an office district, there was mouthwash and hair ties near the water station. Little details like this felt really thoughtful, wow.

Original tuna poke plus chicken breast — how was the portion and taste?

So my poke arrived. The moment I got it, I was amazed at how generous the portion looked. Really substantial! Tons of vegetables and a lot of tuna packed in. The added chicken breast was also plentiful! Loaded with chickpeas, seaweed, and other healthy, protein-rich ingredients, just looking at it made me feel healthier and more satisfied.

The base sauce was sesame soy and the topping sauce was wasabi mayo — I usually love wasabi, so the wasabi mayo was absolutely delicious. It went really well with the tuna poke too! The salty, savory sesame soy combined with the sharp wasabi mayo completely cut through any heaviness.

The added chicken breast was finely shredded, so it didn't feel dry at all! It went down smoothly and paired perfectly with the tuna, great for loading up on protein deliciously.

When I mixed everything up well and took a big bite, the crunchy, popping texture of the flying fish roe was really fun and appealing. The salty sesame soy base and the sharp wasabi mayo sauce were such a perfect match that I ended up eating with real enthusiasm, haha. With so many different ingredients inside, the texture was rich and varied, and I genuinely enjoyed every bite.

Oddly, there was even pineapple in it, and at first I was like, huh, what's this?! But the subtle sweetness it added here and there made the whole thing even more delicious.
