Sinnonhyeon hair salon jelly perm for grown-out hair: Park Jun Beauty
In short
Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is a repair-perm specialist hair salon a 3-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 4 in Gangnam, Seoul. With a perm that had almost completely grown out and damaged ends, the writer got a fall-ready jelly perm (hippie perm) done as a Re-Born repair perm, and the package included a Shiseido salon solution clinic and Ayunche Pro protein care. Head designer Jiyeon compared photos for curl thickness, length and bangs during the consultation, and the finished jelly perm looked even better than expected.

It's fully autumn now. With the cool autumn breeze blowing these days, I visited Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch (박준뷰티랩 강남점) to get a jelly perm that just feels right for the season.
Park Jun Beauty Lab specializes in repair perms (they do other treatments too), and since I'd gotten a perm not long ago, a regular treatment would have damaged my hair way too much, so I decided to go with a repair perm instead. And it's conveniently located near Sinnonhyeon Station, so the accessibility is great too!!
Where is Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, and is there parking?
Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is located right near Exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station. It's just a 3-minute walk from the exit, so it's super accessible by public transit.
Parking is also available just 1 minute away, and they cover the parking cost too, so it's a great spot if you're driving as well.
- Parking lot address: Jeil Parking Lot, 601-3 Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea
- Bring your parking ticket after parking and the fee is covered from reservation time to when the treatment finishes

Park Jun Beauty Lab is on the 2nd floor of the building — you can find it right away by taking the stairs on the right.

What the salon looks like inside
The interior was pretty spacious and comfortable. Even though I visited at 10:30am, the place was packed, which tells you how popular this salon is. Overall it was all white-toned and bright. (The staff were all bright and friendly too.)

This was my first time seeing a salon with a full-length mirror photo zone set up like this hahahaha. You could tell the staff were close and had great teamwork — there were photos of the team together and decorations all around the salon, and it was really nice to see haha.

Before starting the consultation, they stored my bag and served me welcome tea. While I sipped the tea and waited, ⭐️head designer Jiyeon⭐️, whom I'd booked, came to guide me through the treatment. (For reference, I highly recommend getting your treatment done by her!! She looked at everything in such detail and recommended things tailored to my hair condition — it was really great.)
How the chart consultation before the perm works
One of the biggest strengths of Park Jun Beauty Lab, I think, is their kind and detailed guidance — before the treatment, they had me fill out a chart like the one below, checking what hair treatments I'd had before and what I wanted the designer to keep in mind. It felt like a personalized hair consultation... 👍

After filling out the chart, designer Jiyeon confirmed the treatment I wanted and walked me through pricing and the Re-Born repair perm process.

It was quite impressive how thoroughly they'd written up exactly how the Re-Born repair perm proceeds and which products are used.

The Re-Born repair perm was a package that included the Shiseido salon solution clinic, and on top of that they also used Ayunche Pro products for maximum protein care, which gave me even more confidence.
Before the treatment, I spent a long time discussing with designer Jiyeon what thickness of hippie perm I wanted — she went through photo after photo asking if this was the look I wanted, and explained in real detail about length, whether to have bangs, and what the finished result would feel like.
The jelly perm (hippie perm) step by step
Now the treatment really begins!
Before: a grown-out perm with damaged ends

This is my before photo. My previous perm had almost completely fallen out, and there was some damage at the ends.

First she cut my hair and thinned it out. (Her hands are so cute... ⭐️)

Once my hair was trimmed, before any heat treatment she shampooed it first, using the Shiseido hair surface peeling shampoo that prevents hair damage.
After shampooing, on to the perm!! For the perm softening step, she mixed Shiseido Careline Uptex with Ayunche Bond Pro protein ampoule — the highly concentrated protein ampoule minimizes chemical damage during the treatment and improves how long it lasts, which I loved. It's also said to reinforce internal bonds in damaged hair to improve strength and elasticity, which was exactly the right treatment for me since I'd had a perm not long ago — I was really satisfied.

Then she washed my hair again to remove the softening product, and before rolling it, she used a flat iron to smooth out the frizzy bits, since frizz can keep the perm from turning out well — she smoothed it and lifted the roots as a courtesy. These little details were so nice ㅠㅠ Overall the treatment was extremely thorough and systematic.
Then she applied a heat protectant and rolled my hair — using No. 16, 18, and 20 rods. She also added moisture with a PH balancer while rolling, and I was already getting excited.

Now it was time for the real curly business — she wrapped a ton of stuff onto my hair, clipped things in, applied heat, cooled it down. With so much piled on top of my head I looked pretty ridiculous hahahaha, but it was fun in its own way 🤣

After all the rolling, she washed my hair again and applied the Shiseido special care mask — I could really feel my hair condition improving.

Once my hair was all washed, she dried it and applied Ayunche Pro deep repairing cream, and that was the end of today's perm!!! There were so many steps in the process, and I was so grateful they checked and took care of each one so meticulously.

The jelly perm result, and how it held up a week later
All done!! The result turned out even prettier than I expected, honestly ㅠㅠㅠ It's been about a week since I got it done, and people around me keep complimenting how great my hair turned out, which made me really happy haha.

Just so you know, once your hair is done you can also take a free photo booth (insaengnetcut) picture!

I took a shot too haha. Highly recommend Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch — they took care of everything meticulously from start to finish!!
