Myeongdong Italian restaurant for bisque linguine: Mano di Chef
In short
Mano di Chef Myeongdong Branch is an Italian restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul. I shared bisque red shrimp linguine and fresh basil pesto & burrata pizza with an older friend who had helped me so much; the portions, calm setting, and 11th-floor view were all lovely. Verdict: the bisque pasta is a must-order.

Mano di Chef Myeongdong Branch on the 11th floor of UNESCO Hall
I usually tend to hang out only in my own neighborhood, you know^^? But this time, there was an older friend who had helped me out so much, so I came to Myeongdong to have a meal together somewhere nice! There are lots of branches, but I absolutely don’t regret choosing the Myeongdong one haha.
Myeongdong has really come back to life?.. I went on a Saturday, and all the people totally drained my energy haha..
Mano di Chef Myeongdong Branch is on the 11th floor of UNESCO Hall, about a 300 m walk from Exit 5 of Euljiro 1-ga Station-

And there’s no parkingㅠㅠ Parking in Myeongdong is... well, you know^^

Can you make reservations or hold group gatherings?
You can reserve through Naver, Catch Table, or by phone- They also have private rooms inside. The small rooms are available from 10 people, and they can accommodate up to 100 people, so if you’re going as a group, definitely ask about it!
Mano di Chef also allows wine corkage! It’s ₩30,000 per bottle for wine (750 ml) and ₩50,000 per bottle for whiskey (700 ml). If you have a favorite wine or whiskey, you can enjoy it with your meal.
The interior felt neat and calm- I went during the day, but I think the atmosphere would be even nicer in the evening. Perfect for a date or anniversary hehe.
They have high chairs too, so there’s no need to worry about bringing a baby! There are lots of tables, so it would be great for a wedding-invitation gathering or a group get-together, and it seems like such a nice spot for dates or blind dates too^^

Choosing the menu and items unavailable on our visit
There are lots of set menus, and you can order à la carte too^^ There were so many choices that my eyes were rolling around for ages~

But unfortunately, on the day we went they were having trouble sourcing fresh cream, so we were told that dishes containing cream couldn’t be orderedㅜㅜ I wanted to try the gnocchi so badly—such a shame-

They have lots of wines too! I think coming in the evening and having your meal with wine would make for such a lovely atmosphere.
Bisque red shrimp linguine / Fresh basil pesto & burrata pizza
We considered ordering one more dish, but I think we would have left a lot if we had! The portions were bigger than I expected :0
What does the bisque red shrimp linguine taste like?
It was a best-seller among the pasta dishes, so we ordered it, and I seriously, hugely recommend this one..

It was incredibly savory, and I think that was because of the bisque sauce made by simmering red shrimp!!

I loved that it had plenty of octopus and red shrimp, not just tiny little bits^0^ No fighting over who gets to eat the octopus lololol

The red shrimp was really chewy and bouncy. I was surprised that the nicely browned octopus was tender rather than chewy! The wide linguine noodles went so well with the bisque sauce.

It was my first time having a proper bisque pasta, and I fell for its deep flavor and savoriness. Afterward, I thought that whenever I see bisque pasta, I’ll have to order it without fail..
Fresh basil pesto & burrata pizza

The fresh basil pesto & burrata pizza was a best-seller among the pizzas! It’s an herb pizza topped with burrata, prosciutto, arugula, and sun-dried tomatoes over basil pesto.

Since it’s baked in a wood-fired oven, the crust is chewy and delicious too! The basil pesto is spread all over it. If you love basil, you really have to try this one-

The soft flavors are suddenly joined by the sweet-and-salty punch of sun-dried tomatoes here and there^^ There was a reason they added them. Such food geniuses..

I diligently cut it with a knife, then felt awkward and picked it up with my hands haha. I’m someone who has always eaten pizza with my hands, hehe.
From dates to wedding-invitation gatherings
The restaurant has an upscale atmosphere, and since it’s on the 11th floor, the view outside is lovely too- So I think it would be wonderful for a date, blind date, or anniversary. It’s spacious with lots of tables, so I recommend it for groups as well! Of course, the food was delicious, and the plating was pretty, so we had a very happy meal^^ The portions were surprisingly generous, and we left nice and full haha.
