Chicago pizza with weekend corn cheese in Sinjung-dong: P&Chick

I was looking for a dinner spot around Sinjung-dong and ended up at P&Chick. With pizza, chicken and pork cutlet all on the menu, it looked like a comfortable place to bring friends or a date.

I'd been craving a thick Chicago pizza for a while, and this place hit the spot exactly. If you're hunting for good pizza in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon, this is worth a visit.

Where is P&Chick, and is there parking?

P&Chick, the pizza spot people search for around Sinjung-dong, is located about 300 meters from Sinjungdong Station Exit 2, between buildings 1 and 2 of the We've 3rd complex. Parking is free for 2 hours if you use the underground lots at We've 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.

It's a convenient distance if you have plans near Sinjungdong Station or Bucheon City Hall, and it's also easy to stop by when you're just looking for somewhere nearby to eat.

What is the restaurant like inside?

The inside of P&Chick was bigger than I expected. The overall vibe is casual, so it's an easy place to visit without any pressure — good for a date for two, and also fine for a bigger group. It's not a formal restaurant feel at all, more the kind of relaxed atmosphere where you can chat comfortably while eating.

P&Chick's menu and what was ordered

P&Chick centers on pizza but also offers a range of chicken and pork cutlet dishes. It looked like a good spot to come with a group, order one pizza plus chicken or another dish, and share.

Out of everything, I ordered the Chicago pizza and fries — the two things that caught my eye most. These days thin-crust or stone-oven pizza is easy to find, but a proper thick Chicago pizza is surprisingly rare, so I was extra excited.

How does the Chicago pizza taste?

The Chicago pizza finally arrived! The moment it hit the table, its thick look — so different from a regular pizza — was the first thing I noticed. Lifting up a slice and watching the cheese stretch long was the real Chicago-pizza moment.

There was so much cheese packed in that the nutty cheese flavor hit first with every bite. The dough was also thicker than a regular pizza's, so even one slice was pretty filling. It's a totally different style from thin, crispy pizza — if you like the heavy combo of cheese and bread, this will be right up your alley.

The biggest draw of Chicago pizza is definitely the cheese. Every slice I lifted stretched long and proper, and the cheese was packed all the way through so the nutty flavor really came through.

Strawberry jam on the Chicago pizza crust ends

The dough was quite thick, true to Chicago pizza style. At first I thought all that cheese would drown out the dough's flavor, but eating them together, they actually worked really well. The crust ends were mild and plain on their own, and — something I learned from another Chicago pizza place before — dipping them in strawberry jam like this is genuinely delicious.

Free weekend corn cheese, fries and ades

If you visit P&Chick on a weekend, they actually give you corn cheese as a free service. Eating it together with nachos was just right.

The fries I ordered as a side also came out fresh and hot — perfect as a side dish.

Not beer, but I also ordered a refreshing grapefruit ade and a green grape ade to drink.

And at the end, a light pineapple came out for dessert. Dipping it in cinnamon powder made it even sweeter and more refreshing — the perfect palate cleanser after a rich pizza.

That was a great meal today :)
