In short
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is a spicy webfoot octopus (jjukkumi) hot plate restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Chunui Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The order was jjuksam bokkeum (octopus and pork belly stir-fry) for two at 16,000 won per person, plus rice cake for 2,000 won and steamed egg for 3,000 won, finished with 4,000 won snow cheese fried rice that a staff member stir-fries and torches at the table. Today I'm introducing a spicy-sweet stress-reliever near Chunui Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi: Yajju Yajju. It's already known around the neighborhood as a jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) hot spot, and since Chunui Station is the main branch, I went in with high expectations!
From the spice-adjustable jjuksam bokkeum (octopus and pork belly stir-fry) to the finishing touch of cheese fried rice, I enjoyed every bit of it.

Inside Yajju Yajju: seating and atmosphere
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch has about 6 tables of 4. Delivery orders kept coming in nonstop, so it's clearly a popular delivery spot in Bucheon too. As dinnertime approached, the place gradually filled up.

Looking around, there were tips posted on how to eat it well, plus a cute little note on the health benefits of jjukkumi, haha.

What we ordered at Yajju Yajju and what it cost
- Yajju jjuksam, per person ₩16,000 (ordered for 2)
- Rice cake ₩2,000
- Steamed egg ₩3,000
- Snow cheese fried rice ₩4,000

The basic side dishes included cold cucumber soup, perilla leaves, mayonnaise, flying fish roe, seaweed, pickled radish, and corn kernels. Any jjukkumi place that gives you flying fish roe with mayo is a keeper...

Jjuksam bokkeum for two with added rice cake
Jjuksam bokkeum for two (₩16,000) plus rice cake (₩2,000). The plump, meaty octopus and fresh pork belly came piled high on the hot plate. Bean sprouts and various vegetables added great texture.

Steamed egg, ₩3,000. Can't have spicy food without it~ The portion was surprisingly generous, which I loved.

You only need to turn the flame on briefly, or you can just dig in right away.

A gentle smoky char had soaked into the octopus and pork belly, so every bite brought a rush of savory flavor and depth. The chives on top were perfect for adding a fresh bite.

The octopus wasn't chewy at all — it had that plump yet tender bite that stayed alive with every chew.

How to build the perfect lettuce wrap
Making different wrap combos was really fun too. Pickled radish with bean sprouts, or corn with flying fish roe and mayo — there were so many ways to enjoy this Bucheon jjukkumi spot.

How spicy is level 1 jjukkumi, really?
The pork belly's savory fat gently wrapped around the octopus, which could otherwise be a bit plain on its own, striking a really nice balance. The spice was level 1 so it wasn't very hot — next time I want to try level 2 or 3!

Snow cheese fried rice, torched at the table
You have to get the fried rice after jjukkumi, right? The staff said the seasoning seemed a bit light and added more for us. Thanks to that, the fried rice ended up perfectly seasoned 👏🏻

They stir-fry it all themselves, sprinkle on cheese, and torch it right there! It brings out even more of that smoky flavor in the cheese fried rice.

Snow cheese fried rice, ₩4,000. It's already in perfect eating condition, which made things really easy. They were generous with the cheese too, so it was genuinely delicious. Even full, I couldn't put my spoon down, haha. Even if you're stuffed, you have to eat the fried rice at this Bucheon jjukkumi spot!
