What the dining room and the staff service are like
The moment I stepped inside, a clean, cozy atmosphere greeted me. A few things stood out during the meal that made an impression, haha,
First, there were thoughtful signs posted around the walls warning about floor ramps and thresholds. I could feel the owner's warm consideration for elderly guests and families with young children.
Second, every staff member was neatly dressed in matching T-shirts, hats, and aprons, which looked really tidy — and from the moment we walked in until we left, the staff's friendly, bright service made for a genuinely pampered, good-mood experience!

What we ordered: Tteuranchae Bapsang set 13,000 won plus grilled mackerel 16,000 won
- Tteuranchae Bapsang (₩13,000 per person)
- Grilled mackerel (₩16,000)

Stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang, and nurungji sungnyung (scorched-rice tea)
The pot rice arrived steaming, glossy, and so good on its own it was almost sweet. Scooping the rice out into a bowl, pouring hot water into the pot, and finishing the meal with a savory nurungji sungnyung — that's the truth of a proper meal!! The cheonggukjang served alongside had a deep, savory broth that was outstanding — you could taste the deep handmade flavor, and mixing it into the freshly made pot rice warmed me up from the inside.
Is the single-dish grilled mackerel worth 16,000 won?
The grilled mackerel I ordered as a side dish impressed me the moment it arrived, with its size and thickness! Golden-brown and crisp outside, moist inside, the flesh was thick and the oil had been well rendered out, leaving pure clean flavor! It wasn't fishy or salty, so it's a main dish and side both — one that kids and grandparents alike can enjoy without complaint!

Self-bar banchan refills, with cheonggukjang and japchae brought by staff
At Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, you can freely grab as much banchan as you want from the self-bar without any hesitation. But the savory cheonggukjang and the carefully made japchae aren't on the self-bar — ask a staff member and they'll kindly bring you more! If you love japchae, definitely keep this in mind!
The health-focused banchan, made fresh daily with care, really let the natural flavor of the ingredients shine through.

[ Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch ] lacked nothing — spacious, easy parking, careful hygiene and safety measures, friendly service, and above all, comforting, well-made food. It was the best hanjeongsik restaurant near Jak-dong.
