Busan Jeonpo curry restaurant with toppings on the side: Sarugak20

This is Sarugak20, a curry restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, and the second branch of Moru Sikdang. Hours are 9:30–19:00, with last order also at 19:00.

If you've been hunting down good restaurants since Jeonpo Café Street's early days, there's probably nobody who doesn't know Moru Sikdang! I finally made it to Sarugak20, the second branch of Jeonpo Café Street's original favorite Moru Sikdang. I'd wanted to come for ages, and I finally did :)

Where is Sarugak20? The basement across from Jeonpo Community Center

Sarugak20 is in a basement space across from the Jeonpo Community Center. I wondered if a basement place would feel dim and dark, but it turned out to be really bright and warm. The stairs down are pretty steep, so be careful!

Sarugak20 curry menu and topping prices

Sarugak20's curries come in cream curry and special curry, with prices varying a bit depending on the toppings. They're split into cream curry and special curry, and you can also get half-and-half (₩10,000). I ordered the brisket cream curry (₩11,000) with tonkatsu and shrimp tempura toppings added (tonkatsu ₩4,000, shrimp tempura ₩3,500).

Seating at Sarugak20: solo bar seats to floor tables

Sarugak20 has tables for every kind of visit: a bar table great for solo dining, group tables, and floor seating full of Japanese atmosphere. It's the kind of space where just sitting down makes you feel comfortable, haha!

There's even a spot inside where you can wash your hands without going all the way to the restroom, which was a nice touch...!!!

And there's floor seating, which I personally loved even more! (It looked like dogs might be welcome too.)

There's a bar table too, so it seems great for solo dining. This is roughly the vibe at Sarugak20 — such warm light for a basement space...!!

All the cute little props on display are for sale! Those rattan baskets in particular were seriously tempting...

A real review of Sarugak20, Moru Sikdang's second branch

They had plain water, lime tea, and green tea ready, and the teacups were so cute I had to take a photo.

They bring you water like this before the food arrives. :) The staff were super kind too, which made the place even better.

How was the brisket cream curry at Sarugak20?

My order, the brisket cream curry! The pale, creamy look alone was a pass, haha! And there's a generous pile of brisket on top.

With those fried garlic chips on top of the brisket, it's perfect in both looks and taste.

I ordered both toppings, tonkatsu and shrimp tempura. I've seen others get them served on top of the curry, but since mine was already loaded up (?) they seemed to give them separately. Honestly, even better!

I already love brisket, and the curry-brisket combo is perfect! But honestly, the cream curry itself was so soft and delicious, ugh.

A cream curry that exceeded expectations! I feel like it's been ages since I've had Japanese curry this good, ugh.

The shrimp tempura is ₩3,500 but you get two big pieces like this. Great value too!

My honest take on Sarugak20: I scraped the bowl clean, not a bite left! Nearly ate the bowl itself~!!!

Sarugak20 frozen curry takeaway prices

Sarugak20 also offers frozen curry for takeaway, and I'm definitely trying that next time :) I'll bring a review of the frozen curry next time too!
