Dog-friendly curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong, Busan: Sarugak20

Today I visited a curry place I really loved — Sarugak20 (사루각20), a curry spot in Jeonpo, Busan. Do you all know Moru Sikdang?!! I used to go there for curry sometimes, and Sarugak20 is run by the same owner 🍛

Where is Sarugak20, and what about parking and hours?

Sarugak, the curry spot in Jeonpo, is near Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station, located right next to Jeonpo 1-dong Community Center~

To enter Sarugak20's basement curry shop, you go down a staircase. But it doesn't feel like a basement at all — inside it's a cozy space full of sunlight. Just be a bit careful going down the stairs!

Once you're downstairs, you'll see what looks like a half-open kitchen. The owner greets you kindly haha

Sunlight in a basement: what is Sarugak20's seating like?

Inside, there are little decorative pieces scattered around, and the whole atmosphere feels cozy and warm! It was fun looking at each one.

This is a shot I took after the other customers left. There are 6-tops, and 1-, 2-, and 4-top tables too, so a good variety.

I visited fairly early for lunch, but it was already packed. A lot of people were eating solo too, so I'd also recommend it as a solo-dining spot in Jeonpo 👍

Outside you can see what looks like a hanok house, giving it a bit of a Hwangnidang-gil vibe? haha It's a basement, but you still get a view out the window — a comfortable, cozy space 💛

Near the entrance they let us know there was barley tea and lime water — I drank it cold and refreshing. Water is self-serve!

And something I really loved! There's a sink inside the restaurant, thoughtfully stocked with hand wash and hand cream too....🫶

Took a photo because it looked so pretty. The white-and-wood interior gives off such a warm, cozy feeling overall.

Can you bring your dog to Sarugak20?

Sarugak20 has two floor-seating areas, and dogs are welcome. There was a pup at one of the floor tables and it was so, so cute...🐶🐶 Since dogs are allowed in Jeonpo here, I'll have to bring mine next time haha Sarugak20, a dog-friendly spot in Jeonpo!!

Ordering the half-and-half curry and sides: how did it taste?

My order arrived!

• 🍗 Chicken karaage 6pc
• 🍠 Sweet potato cheese croquette 2pc
• 🍹 Cream soda (candy bar)

The half-and-half curry has special curry and cream curry, split neatly down the middle — it looked amazing just from the visual! Since the half-and-half curry doesn't come with any toppings on its own, I added on some side dishes haha And apparently curry and rice can be refilled — there's no reason not to come to Sarugak20...

They also give you kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi), which was perfect with the curry! haha

This is the cream curry. It's the signature curry — soft and savory. Very smooth and creamy, and honestly kind of addictive!!

The special curry has minced beef mixed in, so the texture and umami were amazing!! There's cheese sprinkled on top too, which makes it look so pretty, right? haha

These are the side dishes I ordered because I was sad the half-and-half curry had no toppings! Sweet potato cheese croquette and karaage.

Karaage as a curry topping — no need to say more. The karaage came out freshly fried, so hot and crispy, and so good. Dipped in the sauce they give you, it's perfect 👍👍

The sweet potato cheese croquette was so good too. The combo of sweet potato and savory cheese 🫶 When I go to Japanese restaurants I always tend to order potato croquettes because I love them, but at Sarugak20 it's a sweet potato cheese croquette!!

And here's the cream soda in candy bar flavor~ Doesn't it look so refreshing and pretty??🩵💙

There's ice cream on top of the soda — they said to scoop some out and mix it in as you go 🩵🍹 The ice cream itself was super sweet haha

I set the cream soda aside for a bit while eating the curry, and it had puffed up like this — so cute haha Sweet and perfect as a palate cleanser 👍

Is Sarugak20 worth a visit? Final thoughts

Sarugak20 is great as a solo-dining spot in Jeonpo-dong, great as a curry restaurant and lunch spot in Jeonpo-dong, and I loved that it's dog-friendly too. The owner was kind, and both the main curry dishes and the sides were delicious — I left feeling really happy 🫶💛
