Madeleines and salt bread packed to go from Fluffy Bake Shop

I've been really into sweet baked treats lately, and a couple of days ago while I was around Gongdeok, I stopped by Fluffy Bake Shop, famous as a real dessert hotspot! I got completely hypnotized by the gorgeous madeleines and financiers filling the showcase and ended up packing home a bunch of stuff. Here's my honest review of this dessert spot that was a treat for both the eyes and the mouth 💚

Finding it from Gongdeok Station Exit 2, and the exterior

Fluffy Bake Shop, which has become known by word of mouth as a dessert spot near Gongdeok Station, is just a short walk from Exit 2. As you walk down the alley, the cute, white-signed exterior with its cozy vibe catches your eye right away. The sweet, nutty butter smell drifting out from inside makes it impossible to just walk past!

There's also a mirror-style standing sign out front, so it wasn't hard to find, and since it's located along the commercial strip of the Gongdeok SK Leaders View Complex 2, parking is free for up to an hour — great if you're just coming to pick up food to go, haha.

The atmosphere inside and the showcase

The cozy, small interior of Fluffy Bake Shop

Step inside and you're greeted by a small but cozy, warm atmosphere. It's a small café, but there are about 2 tables so you can eat in — a nice spot to order some baked goods with a drink and chat away.

The first thing that catches your eye as soon as you walk in is, of course, the neatly arranged baked goods showcase! The desserts are lined up by type on a wood-toned display stand, and everything looked so hygienically and cleanly managed that I could pick with confidence. Cute little shell-shaped logo stickers were dotted around too, giving the café its own distinct charm.

I went around 3pm on a weekday and a lot of the baked goods were already sold out, unfortunately ㅠㅠ If you're curious about the fuller lineup, it's worth checking the shop's social media.

There's a parchment-lined tray right across from the bread display, so the flow of picking things up was easy and convenient, haha.

What kinds of madeleines and financiers are there

The madeleine and financier lineup here is really diverse and impressive! There were so many delicious, pretty-looking options that I honestly agonized over my choices for a good while ㅠㅠ

Vanilla, chocolate and other madeleines on display

The madeleines come in a wide range of flavors — from classic vanilla, chocolate, and plain to Earl Grey, yuja (citron), black sesame, espresso pecan, raspberry, lemon, carrot, and chestnut. And of course, the plump salt bread, the best-selling item at Fluffy Bake Shop, this Gongdeok baked goods hotspot, can't be left out!

The financier lineup was particularly unique too — beyond the classic flavors like walnut caramel and berry-berry, there were distinctive items rarely seen elsewhere, like gamtae (seaweed) financier, Nunettine, and melon financier, which made browsing genuinely fun, haha.

After a lot of deliberation, the items I ended up putting on my tray were: salt bread, egg tart, chocolate madeleine, vanilla madeleine, espresso pecan madeleine, and chestnut madeleine! They packed everything carefully into a cute paper bag so I could carry it home safely 🧡

Gift packaging and the drink lineup

Besides the basic paper bag, there are also 4/6/15-piece box options plus shopping bags, which makes it great for preparing gifts or souvenirs. There's also a well-curated lineup of teas, coffee, and non-coffee drinks that pair nicely with the madeleines and financiers — just enough options to enjoy fresh madeleines alongside a coffee!

A single piece of salt bread from Fluffy Bake Shop

How was the salt bread

The salt bread was a textbook case of crispy outside, chewy inside. One bite and the nutty butter flavor spreads across your mouth, with the salty finish being the perfect kick.

That deep butter pocket inside — doesn't it just look delicious?

An egg tart with visible pie layers

The egg tart — is it still good 1–2 days later?

The egg tart, with its crisp pie layers still intact, had a smooth, pudding-like filling contrasted nicely with the flaky, crumbly pastry shell on the outside!

I bought it and ate it 1-2 days later, and it wasn't dry at all — the egg tart cream inside was just the right amount of sweet and delicious, so it didn't get boring at all!!

Let me declare this up front —

This is seriously the best madeleine spot of my life!!!!!

Vanilla madeleine with visible vanilla bean flecks

Vanilla madeleine

The vanilla cream inside had a really intense flavor, and just seeing the vanilla bean flecks packed in there felt like the real deal! It's a rich taste that clearly comes from good ingredients — nothing like the common vanilla flavor you'd get at a franchise bakery, so you absolutely have to try this one!!! 💛

Chestnut madeleine

A big chunk of chestnut sitting right on top makes it a pass on visuals alone! It's packed full of sweet, nutty chestnut flavor — right up the alley of anyone with an old-fashioned sweet tooth.

Chocolate madeleine

It's rich, luxurious chocolate flavor through and through, making it the ultimate sugar-fix option. Even though it's chocolate, it's just sweet enough while keeping the softness of a madeleine, so it doesn't get sickly at all.

This one is a total winner just on looks! The coffee cream inside had a subtle sweet-bitter flavor that was so good, and the crunchy, nutty pecan texture was so charming — everything came together in perfect harmony.

Final verdict

Fluffy Bake Shop had a diverse and distinctive baked goods lineup, with taste and moist texture both nailed down perfectly. The packaging is also clean and cute, so it'd be a solid choice for gifts or thank-you presents for friends. If you're looking for a quality dessert café or a great baked goods spot near Gongdeok Station, I highly recommend stopping by to pick some up ෆ
