Where is Hoegi Wang Galbitang, and can you park there?
Hoegi Wang Galbitang is a galbitang restaurant at 54 Imun-ro, 1st floor, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, near Hoegi Station. There's parking right in front of the store, so it's easy to visit even if you're driving!

I was looking for a solid meal spot near Hoegi Station and ended up at Hoegi Wang Galbitang. There are so many restaurants around Hoegi Station since it's a university area! But on days when I want a proper warm soup and rice instead of something quick, Korean food is what comes to mind.
Lunchtime is always tricky when it comes to choosing a menu, but a dish like galbitang that fills you up with one bowl felt like a great fit for anyone looking for lunch in Hwigyeong-dong!
Around Hoegi Station there are plenty of places that are easy to reach by public transit but tricky for parking, so having a spot you can actually drive to was genuinely convenient!
It's close to Hoegi Station so it's easy to reach by public transit too, and with Kyung Hee University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies nearby, it felt like a place that students, nearby office workers, and local residents alike would enjoy visiting. It's a good spot to come to when you're craving a solid lunch, like I was :)

Inside Hoegi Wang Galbitang: group tables and solo seats
Walking into Hoegi Wang Galbitang, the interior was spacious and clean. There were so many customers on the day I visited that I couldn't get interior photos, but group tables were fully set up, so it looked great for visiting with several people.
Whether you're eating with friends, having a family meal out, or getting together with a larger group, it seemed like a solid option — good to keep in mind if you're looking for a group dining spot near Hoegi Station! These days a lot of people eat alone too, and since there was space for solo dining, I saw quite a few people eating by themselves!

Side dishes: kimchi, kkakdugi and deodeok muchim
The banchan (side dishes) could be refilled as many times as needed. There was neatly prepared kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and deodeok muchim (seasoned deodeok root), which gave it a healthy feel haha.

Galbitang is a soup dish, so it warms you up from the inside, and I liked that you get to eat meat and rice together too. These days there's plenty of quick food around, but sometimes you just need a proper meal with warm broth and rice to actually feel like you've eaten. So if you're looking for a place to eat near Hoegi Station, this should suit anyone who likes Korean food :)

Revitalizing wang galbitang vs meat-packed aronsatae galbitang
The revitalizing wang galbitang! Galbitang is of course the signature dish at Hoegi Wang Galbitang. Served hot in a stone bowl, it looked satisfying just to see — with the galbitang broth, tender rib meat, and rice on the side, it was plenty for a full meal.

And then there's the meat-packed aronsatae galbitang. Since it's their best-selling menu, I ordered this one too, and it really was loaded with meat!

Both galbitang bowls had so much meat still on the bone!! I couldn't believe how much meat there was!! The stone bowl itself was big so the overall portion was large, but the amount of meat was seriously impressive haha!!

Glass noodles in the bowl: how filling is one serving?
There were even glass noodles in it, so it filled me up even more haha! Now that's a hearty lunch! After actually visiting and eating, I could see why it's a well-known galbitang restaurant near Hoegi Station! The galbitang tastes great and the portion is generous, so it's definitely worth a visit :)

Is Hoegi Wang Galbitang worth it for lunch near Hoegi Station?
If you're looking for a place to eat near Kyung Hee University and Hoegi Station, or trying to decide on lunch in Hwigyeong-dong, going for a Korean dish like galbitang that's fairly universally liked is a good move!!! The variety of food in a university area is great, but sometimes a proper meal like this really is the most satisfying!!
As the seasons change and the weather gets chillier, a hot bowl of galbitang is exactly what comes to mind on a cold day, and with warm broth plus a generous amount of meat, it made for a really filling meal!! If you're looking for a solid restaurant near Hoegi Station or trying to decide on a Korean lunch near Kyung Hee University, treat yourself to a warm bowl of galbitang :)
