Why we chose Gyuen Dang, a new gyukatsu spot near Seolleung Station
My appetite's been kind of off lately, so I've been craving something special to shake it up, you know? I heard a tasty new gyukatsu place, Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch, had just opened near Seolleung, and realized it had been ages since I'd had gyukatsu — no need to think twice, let's go!

Do you need a reservation at Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch?
I booked ahead through Naver Reservation before heading over. This Japanese restaurant near Seolleung Station is already popular, so walking in without a reservation might mean a wait.

It turned out to be more spacious, comfortable and atmospheric than I expected, this gyukatsu spot near Seolleung.

Since I'd reserved, a table was already secured for me when I arrived! This place has a special feel that would work well for a date too — a lunch spot near Seolleung Station I'd recommend.

Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch menu and QR ordering at the table
The menu at this Japanese restaurant near Seolleung Station is laid out like above — I went with gyukatsu this time, but the omurice and rice bowls, plus the fried dishes, are also popular. Sounds like it'd be fun to come back and work through them one by one like a stamp rally.

I ordered the sirloin gyukatsu haha. Each table has its own QR code, so you can check the menu and order easily right from your seat.

There's also a review event running right now, so give it a try — you can get 2 pieces of mini okonomiyaki.

Such a thoughtful touch — each table has a guide explaining how to eat the gyukatsu so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

That same thoughtfulness showed up elsewhere too — baby chairs, of course, plus fabric deodorizer and floss set out after the meal. With that much care, I was looking forward to the food showing the same attention.

What comes with the tenderloin gyukatsu set
The sirloin gyukatsu set arrived neatly arranged on a tray. Warm white rice, soup, cabbage salad, a few palate-cleansing side dishes, and sauces to add flavor to the gyukatsu — all laid out together, but the real standout was

the gyukatsu meat itself — the quality really caught my eye! A lunch spot near Seolleung Station worth recommending — this place is clearly serious about everything it does.

The marbling and the bright red flesh already spoke for the quality, and what got me even more excited was the thin, crisp pre-fried coating — I couldn't wait to dig in.

How to grill gyukatsu on the mini hearth, plus the butter capsule
Once the stone plate on the mini hearth is hot enough, you can grill it plain or add butter for extra flavor.

Butter is optional depending on your taste! It really maximizes the flavor, so I'm a fan — and it's a nice touch that it comes in a neat little butter capsule just right for sharing.

Medium-rare tenderloin: salt, wasabi or sauce — which was best?
Rather than fully cooked, I prefer it lightly grilled to about medium-rare — it stays so much softer that way. Being able to enjoy it however you like is probably why the gyukatsu at this lunch spot near Seolleung Station is so popular.
Eaten with just a bit of salt, you get the sirloin's clean flavor and juiciness in a soft, mild way; with wasabi, it pairs cleanly and refreshingly with the meat; and dipped in the sauce, it's packed with savory depth that goes perfectly with the rice!
