Cheongju café with 6 canned americanos to go: Eopcheonri382

This time I went near Chungbuk National University in Cheongju and dropped by Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch to pack some drinks to go, haha.

Eopcheonri382 is a modern-style café, but it really nails a retro vibe like visiting grandma's house, so once you step in there's actually a lot to look at, lol. This time, instead of staying long, I packed misugaru, six cans of americano, and dried persimmon to bring home.

Eopcheonri382 Chungbuk National University Branch is located at 1F, 713-1 1sunhwan-ro, Seowon-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do. It's in the Sachang-dong area near Chungbuk National University, so it's a decent spot for students to use, haha. As currently posted, it's open weekdays from 9am to 11:30pm and weekends from 10am to 11:30pm, with last order at 11:20pm.

There's also space out front for about 2–3 cars to park, according to the posted info. Worth remembering when looking for a Chungbuk National University café open late, lol.

Eopcheonri382 in Sachang-dong after dark: the storefront

I visited in the evening, and the big sign reading Eopcheonri382 lit up brightly and was visible from far away, so it wasn't hard to find, haha.

The building itself is a modern café, but the sign and entrance design give off a slightly old-fashioned tearoom vibe. There's even a yellow chair placed next to the entrance, so just one photo instantly gives off that unique Eopcheonri382 feel, lol.

Once you step inside, the atmosphere gets much more fun. The walls, window frames, and tables are all matched in wood tones, with rattan chairs, curtains, and old-fashioned lighting added on top, so it really felt like an old countryside house done up in a modern way, haha.

There's a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and on one side there's even an old clock, a calendar, and a Marshall speaker, so there's fun to be had just looking around, lol.

On the wall there was a grandma character along with a phrase that said something like "Grandma's memories can't be bought with money, but Eopcheonri can be," and I thought the brand concept was really clear. The tables weren't cramped, and there was a good spot for solo seating by the window, so it seemed like a decent place to do assignments or grab a coffee near Chungbuk National University, haha.

Menu and order at Eopcheonri382 — 29,100 won total

It's fun that Eopcheonri382 has drinks with a slightly old-fashioned feel like misugaru, mugwort latte, and adlay latte, along with regular coffee, lol. There are also meal items like poke bowls, sandwiches, and toast, so it's a café that also works well for a simple meal.

What I ordered that day was the 6-can americano set, dried persimmon, and misugaru, and the total showing on the kiosk was ₩29,100, haha. The kiosk also noted that desserts are made fresh right after ordering.

What does Eopcheonri382's misugaru taste like?

When it comes to Eopcheonri382, misugaru (roasted grain powder drink) is hard to leave out, haha. It's currently sold as one of the signature traditional drinks at the Chungbuk National University branch's menu. It comes in a can-shaped container, the amount was pretty generous, and the packaging was clean. When you drink it, the nutty aroma of grains comes up first, followed by a subtle sweetness, making for a familiar and comforting taste, lol.

It was nice to drink one when overly sweet drinks feel like too much these days, and it seemed like it could work as a filling simple breakfast substitute, haha.

Six canned americanos packed to go

This time I packed not just one cup but a full 6-can set, lol. Eopcheonri382 has a menu option where you can buy americanos in a multi-can bundle, which is great to keep at home or the office and drink one at a time. They put it in a brown pouch that looks like a dedicated cooler bag, so it was easy to carry around, haha. With the big Eopcheonri382 logo on it, it definitely left more of an impression than a plain paper bag. I thought it'd be worth using again whenever I need to buy several cups of coffee at once, lol.

Dried persimmon to take home too

And what quietly caught my eye was the dried persimmon. Selling this kind of snack at a coffee shop feels very Eopcheonri382, haha. Even the packaging has an old-fashioned market snack design, so pairing it with the misugaru worked really well, lol. It had a chewy texture with a naturally rising sweetness, good to eat one piece at a time alongside the coffee. Being able to choose this kind of traditional snack instead of an ordinary cake or cookie also feels like part of Eopcheonri382's charm.

Personally, I think I'll use the 6-can americano option again whenever I need to pack several cups at once, lol.
