Today I'm introducing Anmin Yullyang, a great-atmosphere BBQ restaurant in Yullyang 3-district, Cheongju, where staff grill everything for you 💛
Where is Anmin Yullyang, and where do you park?
Anmin Yullyang sits in a residential alley of Cheongju's Yullyang 3-district, surrounded by villa housing. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there are free parking lines nearby and a public parking lot within walking distance.

The exterior of Anmin Yullyang genuinely surprised me! Such a pretty, upscale-looking facade tucked into a villa-dense alley?🤭 The stone-wall accent felt really unique too, haha.

Inside Anmin Yullyang: tables apart and a private room for 6 to 10
Anmin Yullyang isn't a huge restaurant, but each table is separated from the others, and there's a private area in the back that can seat 6 to 10 people together. I went right at weekday opening so I could enjoy it at a leisurely pace.

It's a really well-known spot for dining and drinks in Yullyang 3-district, so at dinner peak times you may have to wait — I'd recommend reserving ahead 💛
The warm wood-tone atmosphere mixed with lush plants makes it feel upscale and pretty! It's so clean and pleasant that it'd be great for a date, and also perfect for bringing your parents, haha.

The restaurant isn't huge, but each table is separated from the others so you can eat comfortably.
And there's a privately separated space in the back for 6 to 10 people, which I'd totally recommend for a Yullyang-dong group dinner or gathering spot 😍

Since I had reserved ahead, the table was neatly set for me. The paper table mat let me know I was Anmin's 5,051st customer, and it was also full of the owner's philosophy and heart behind this Yullyang 3-district dining and drinking spot, plus tips on how to enjoy the meal even more — it really showed how genuinely they care about customer satisfaction.

Each table came with a small plate, paper cup, beer glass, soju glass, and wet wipes already set out, which made things very convenient.
Anmin Yullyang menu: grill sets, ramen and fried rice
Anmin Yullyang's menu has a wide range of domestic pork grill dishes, plus set menus that let you taste multiple cuts affordably. Ordering is done via the tablet at each table.

And the meal menu is really diverse — not just doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), but ramen and fried rice too, setting it apart from other BBQ places. Such a unique, wide range of choices.
The drink menu is really varied too, and having non-alcoholic cocktails is such a great touch ❤️🔥

You order through the tablet at each table, and it's very convenient since the photos and descriptions of each dish are detailed.
Side dishes and the seven dipping sauces
The basic banchan (side dishes) at Anmin Yullyang include fresh wrap vegetables and spicy-seasoned fresh cabbage salad.

Seasonal pickles, fresh kimchi, pickled onion, pickled radish, and green onion kimchi also came out — every single side dish was delicious and tasted like real care went into it.

For sauces, there are a whopping 7 kinds: curry bean powder, pine pollen salt, cumin, shiitake wasabi, cooked seasoned hairtail intestine, fish sauce, and cheese fondue sauce.

When I mentioned it was my first visit, the owner explained each sauce one by one and kindly told me how to enjoy each cut for the best taste. Being able to mix and match to your taste is a huge point of difference for Anmin Yullyang.
Anmin Whole Pig Half Set, 41,000 won: staff grill it for you
What I ordered at Anmin Yullyang was the Anmin Whole Pig Half Set (₩41,000), which lets you enjoy pork belly, pork neck, and herbal pork skin all at once. The meat is grilled by staff from start to finish.

Even to me, someone who doesn't know much about meat, I could immediately tell — the texture is artful! It just looked so high quality.
Isn't the best-tasting meat in the world the meat someone else grills for you?😍 With expert hands grilling piece by piece and the smoke immediately vented away, there was absolutely no meat smell left on my clothes even after the meal — such a comfortable, satisfying experience.
The nicely grilled meat was moved onto the mini charcoal brazier. It was cut into bite-sized pieces and piled up generously — I felt like a millionaire 🤭 A candle underneath the mini brazier kept it warm until the very last piece.

They recommended dipping the first bite of pork neck in pine pollen salt. The fatty part was crisp with the juices bursting out, and the richness was wrapped up beautifully by the elegant, clean taste of the salt — an explosion of umami 💥

The pork belly was truly crisp outside, tender inside! Just the right thickness and doneness made it so delicious to eat, and a subtle charcoal aroma rose up with every chew. The pork skin had absolutely no off-smell and wasn't mushy at all — instead it was completely bouncy and nutty, so good.

The steamed egg, great for protecting your stomach before the meal, had a soft and nutty umami flavor that felt like a classic, crowd-pleasing steamed egg that both kids and adults would love.
Mashitte Gol-bibimmyeon, 6,000 won
For the meal menu I picked Mashitte Gol-bibimmyeon (spicy cold noodles with whelk), priced at ₩6,000. Wait, is this really bibimmyeon at a BBQ place? The plating was so pretty and loaded generously with whelk that I was genuinely surprised!

The noodles were truly bouncy and chewy, the sauce was tangy-sweet, and I could taste a deep, distinctive broth flavor underneath. It felt like even this meal item was prepared with real care, making for a very satisfying meal.

Such a nice touch — mouthwash placed right by the register for after the meal‼️ I was moved again and again by all this thoughtful care right to the very end.
Between the quality of the meat, the grilling service that lets you focus on just enjoying the meal, and the upscale interior, Anmin Yullyang — a well-known dining and drinking spot in Cheongju's Yullyang 3-district — works for dates, family meals, gatherings, and group dinners alike. I'd highly, highly recommend it 💛💛💛
