Doosan Bears vs NC Dinos: a winning night at Jamsil Baseball Stadium

Last weekend I went to watch Doosan Bears vs NC Dinos. NC has been breathing down our necks all season, and going into this game we were 0 for 4 at the stadium this year... losing streak and all! But we finally broke it with a win this game!! 😂

At this point NC was catching up to within about 3, maybe 3.5 games, and we'd lost a heartbreaker the day before, so I watched today praying, please just win... 😂

What you see from red seats block 104 behind 1st base

I think it was row 5 in 1B red seats block 104? Close to the infield so the view is good, but the batter's box was slightly blocked by a pillar. I used to write reviews about the view at Jamsil pretty often... now that the team is moving stadiums, I'll have to go write fresh ones for the new place...

Kim Min-seok's home run, which led us to victory that day, made us the KBO's 4th-ever team to reach 4,300 home runs! Records like this always make me want to be #1, you know? Keep fighting, Doosan~!!

While I was watching the game and having a blast, just like the scoreboard message said... my inner foodie instincts started stirring! Today's target: the food trucks lined up outside the stadium :)

Ippeun Yeowoo Hot Dog: bacon corn mayo hot dog and vanilla shake set

The first thing that caught my eye was the Ippeun Yeowoo (Pretty Fox) hot dog truck! People who'd already ordered were huddled together waiting for their hot dogs. It's famous as one of the go-to hot dog trucks at Jamsil Stadium!

I went with the bacon corn mayo + vanilla shake set! Since seats at the stadium are tight, they neatly pack it into a dedicated hot dog container so it's easy to eat.

Eating a proper hot dog and shake like this at the ballpark made me feel like I was at a Major League stadium instead of Jamsil 🤤

The hot dog was so loaded it was hard to eat! Packed with toppings and a big fat sausage, it really filled your whole mouth — that kind of hot dog!!

Bingdongdaeng's original snow-ice patbingsu, the fix for early-evening heat

After the hot dog, I ordered the correct answer for a palate cleanser: Bingdongdaeng bingsu!

The truck is bright yellow so it really stands out, and it's also famous for bingsu at Jamsil — the line was insanely long this summer 😂

I got the original snow-ice patbingsu (red bean shaved ice), and they piled on so much red bean and rice cake that you couldn't even see the milk ice underneath... 👍🏻

The moment you open the lid, this is the view...!! It really suited the still-warm early evening weather perfectly!! Seriously, Jamsil Stadium has so many good things to eat... they'll keep selling at the new stadium too, right..? 😭

Nacho fried shrimp from the Station food truck

Leaving the delicious bingsu behind.... you can't call yourself a true foodie if it ends here 😅

As I was heading out for one last round of food, Sunmi, who threw the ceremonial first pitch, even performed on the cheer stage 😍 I stopped mid-errand to watch!!

The last item was Station Nacho Fried Shrimp from the Station food truck!! This truck is famous for cream shrimp at Jamsil Stadium, and the fried shrimp here were seriously big and hearty, which I loved.

WOW delicious!!!

Big, chunky fried shrimp sitting on a bed of crispy nachos, topped with a generous drizzle of cream sauce — the shrimp and nachos went so well together!! The best!!

Wait, are shrimp allowed to be this hearty? 🤤 Honestly convincing enough to pass as shrimp from a Chinese restaurant~~ 😆

Right as I was finishing off the bingsu and nacho shrimp~ Kim Taek-yeon handed off to Lee Young-ha to close out the game, followed by the Hustle Play Award ceremony :) A truly epic, fun game and a happy win at Jamsil Stadium!!! Only one visit left for the year now... please win again next time!!!
