Conveyor sushi in Pohang Ocheon: 47 plates for three at Hojueseo

In short

Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap is a flat-rate conveyor sushi restaurant that recently opened on Namwon-ro in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang. Three of us cleared 47 plates at 2,200 won each, and the tablet ordering, side dishes circling on the rail, and the roomy waiting area with a massage machine all stood out. Yukhoe (beef tartare) sushi was the winner of the day, and with parking in front of and behind the building, Hojueseo is an easy place to drive to.

What does the Ocheon-eup restaurant look like, and where do you park?

Hi everyone! Let me share my review of Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap, a hot new spot in Ocheon, Pohang! Honestly, out of all the sushi places I've been to in Pohang recently, this one comes out on top. The taste, service, and amenities were all perfect, so I've been recommending it to everyone I know ✨

Even from a distance, the clean, sleek exterior caught my eye !!!!!! And for anyone driving there, parking is the most important thing, right? There's plenty of parking right in front of and behind the store, so there was zero parking stress — a huge plus. The building itself feels clean and brand-new, so I thought it'd also be perfect for a date course or a drive 🚗💨

Inside Hojueseo: seating and atmosphere

The interior blends wood tones with warm lighting, giving off a cozy yet stylish vibe overall. The tables are spaced generously, and bar seats and regular tables are arranged harmoniously around the conveyor sushi rail, so it's great for eating alone or chatting with a group. There's no weekend break time either, so you can visit anytime without worrying about timing — a huge perk for office workers or for those tricky weekend meetups.

Spacious waiting area with a massage chair

I was genuinely surprised the moment I walked in — the waiting area was huge and comfortable. Hojueseo has thoughtful amenities so even if there's a wait, it's never boring. There's even a massage chair tucked in one corner of the store where you can relax while waiting — such a great touch.

2,200 won a plate: the menu and tablet ordering

One of the biggest draws here is the combination of reasonable prices and incredible quality. Every plate is just ₩2,200 🍣🔥 Each table has a tablet ordering system, so even if the sushi you want isn't on the rail, you can order it with a few taps and it's made fresh and brought right to you — so fresh! For sushi topped with cheese, you can ask staff to warm it up in the microwave for even richer flavor and softness :) From fresh raw fish to various meats, rolls, and fried options, there's so much variety it's genuinely fun to pick and choose.

Side dishes that ride the conveyor rail too

Interestingly, the side dishes you need with sushi — pickled radish, pickled scallions, ginger — all circle around on the rail too. No need to call a staff member when you want some; just grab them as they pass by, which was super convenient and fun. Soy sauce and wasabi are also neatly set up at every table, so you can add as much as you like to your taste. It's a small detail, but this rail-based side dish system kept the meal flowing without interruption, making the whole experience that much more relaxing 🥢🫚

47 plates between three: yukhoe sushi came out on top

That day, three of us visited and cleared a whopping 47 plates without a struggle! The quality was so good I kept gasping in admiration the whole time. My friend recommended I try the yukhoe (beef tartare) sushi, and one bite in, I completely understood why she raved about it. The chewiness of the fresh raw beef combined with the rice was insanely good. The staff were also incredibly kind, like angels, which kept me in a great mood the whole meal.

For a refreshing dessert to finish, we carefully polished off some sweet-tart pineapple and melon, which left my mouth feeling perfectly clean 🍍🍈😋
