Myeongdong jokbal restaurant for tender meat off the bone: Miss Jokbal
In short
Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a jokbal (Korean braised pig's trotter) restaurant a 3-minute walk from Exit 5 of Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Found Miss Jokbal as a Myeongdong must-eat! A satisfying meal with chewy jokbal and a seriously generous spread of sides.
I visited Miss Jokbal, a Myeongdong / Euljiro must-eat, haha. I brought my aunt who loves jokbal, and she went absolutely wild saying it was delicious — she even picked up the leg bone and gnawed on it lol. Here's the full review, let's go ✨

How big is Miss Jokbal Myeongdong, and who eats there?
The moment you walk into Miss Jokbal Myeongdong, the space is wide open and huge!!!!! There are so many tables too!! But almost all the tables are full! What surprised me was that while there were plenty of Korean customers, there were tons of foreign customers too! How on earth did they find out about 'jokbal'..! Has word gotten around to foreigners too that it's delicious? 🤭 A must-eat spot foreigners seek out too >_<

Miss Jokbal Myeongdong menu and the basic table setting
Here are the main menu items at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong 😄 Doesn't it look delicious just from the menu photos?!

First off, Miss Jokbal Myeongdong! When you order jokbal or bossam, regardless of size, they give you kimchi kalguksu and salad for free! 🤩💗 That's insane!!!!! So this is what you can consider the basic table setting~!

What comes with the 58,000-won Emperor Jokbal?
I ordered the Emperor Jokbal! The moment the food arrived I understood exactly why it's called 'Emperor' ok..♡ Centered on the jokbal, you get a bunch of delicious sides to go along with it. Gimbap, mook, shrimp salad, tofu kimchi, cheonsachae, japchae! You order just one jokbal and get to eat such a variety — that's probably why it's become a must-eat in Myeongdong, which is full of foreign tourists?! It's a great spot for foreign visitors looking for food in Myeongdong too 🤩
This is seriously legit food..🤍 Can you see how glossy and shiny the jokbal is? You guys, the meat is genuinely tender and soft!!!!! It really deserves the phrase 'melts in your mouth'! No gamey smell at all, and not dry in the slightest! I've actually eaten a lot of jokbal that was dry, so I never really liked it that much. But seriously, what is this? I kept eating it going 'what is this, it's not dry at all!' lol 🤍 The harmony of tender, soft, and chewy 💗 So good
My aunt loves garlic and chili peppers lol. If you ask, they bring garlic and chili peppers to your table! You need garlic and chili when you wrap it in lettuce!!

Gnawing the meaty bone by hand at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong
After finishing the meat, there were bones underneath with tons of meat still clinging to them! Can you see how glossy even the bones are! Of course you have to pick it up and gnaw it?!?!?! I seriously tore into it like a caveman lol. It wasn't just a bone — there was so much meat still stuck to it that even while gnawing I kept going 'oh!' lol. At this point I was just ?!

How is the free kimchi kalguksu at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong?
Kimchi kalguksu boiled down nice and thick! I love it reduced like that..haha. This kimchi kalguksu is a spicy kimchi and bean sprout soup with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) — clean and refreshing!!! This kimchi kalguksu really cuts through the richness of the meat! Now I get why they give it out as a free side. Miss Jokbal is the best.. officially a Myeongdong must-eat..
Who should eat at Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch?
It had been a while since I went on a date with my aunt, and the generous Emperor Jokbal menu was such a treat. My aunt kept saying it was so delicious 🤭
