Goyang café solo lunch: kimchi bacon pilaf at Like Like

A brunch café where I could comfortably eat lunch alone in Juyeop

At lunchtime, I went to Like Like Ilsan Juyeop Branch for a meal by myself. These days, when I am looking for somewhere to eat alone, I tend to prefer a place where I can sit comfortably like a café rather than a restaurant that is too crowded. There was a wide range of brunch dishes here, and above all, dogs are welcome, so it looked like a good option for people visiting with their dogs too. It had an easygoing atmosphere where I could come alone, have a leisurely lunch, and head out without feeling awkward.

Outside Like Like Ilsan Juyeop Branch

Like Like Ilsan Juyeop Branch also had outdoor seating at the front. I saw about three outdoor seats in total, and on a nice day, it seemed like a pleasant place to sit with your dog and enjoy brunch. If you are looking for a dog-friendly café in Ilsan, it is worth noting that there is outdoor seating as well. Since I visited at lunchtime, though, I decided to eat inside rather than outdoors.

A small, comfortable interior

When I opened the door and went in, the café itself was on the compact side. A few customers were already there because it was lunchtime, and there was a dog inside too. I could see why people search for dog-friendly brunch cafés in Ilsan and come here.

This was not a typical café that only sells coffee. There was a pretty broad selection of meal options, including brunch, sandwiches, panini, salads, poke bowls, and toast. So it works whether you just want a coffee or, like me, need to sort out lunch on your own.

A good place to visit with your dog

One of the standout features of Like Like Ilsan Juyeop Branch is, of course, that dogs are welcome. I could see dogs inside the café, and they even had a separate dog-snack menu. What caught my eye was that they had snacks prepared for customers visiting with dogs, rather than only food for people. That made it feel like a genuinely practical space for anyone looking for a dog-friendly spot. Dog owners naturally check whether a café allows dogs first, and at a place like this, you can spend time with your dog and have a meal too. With such a varied brunch menu, it also looked nice for a weekend visit with a pet.

Review event and parking information

One more thing that is useful to know before visiting! They were also running a Naver review event. It said that when you write a review, you can receive one item from egg scramble, a house-baked cookie, peach iced tea, potato cream soup, maple French toast, or Greek-yogurt Churu dog treats. The fact that visitors with dogs could choose a snack for their dog especially stood out.

If you are visiting by car, it is useful to check the parking time in advance too. Using the Sidae Plaza underground parking lot gives you free parking for up to 2 hours on weekdays and 1 hour 30 minutes on weekends, so driving is convenient as well.

Ordering kimchi bacon pilaf for a solo meal

Since I was visiting alone that day, I chose a rice dish instead of going for anything too elaborate. I ordered the kimchi bacon pilaf set for ₩12,400! And I also added the peanut banana French toast for ₩9,800, haha. I came alone and ordered two dishes anyway, haha. Still, I was curious about the French toast, so I decided to order it too.

The kimchi bacon pilaf was kimchi fried rice topped with bacon, egg, and gim flakes, making it a good dish for a full meal. When you order it as a set, you can choose either house-made potato cream soup or a banana blueberry yogurt bowl. The add-on cost was ₩2,500. You could also choose one drink from grapefruit juice, orange juice, milk, cola, or cider. After thinking it over, I chose the potato cream soup plus grapefruit juice combination.

After ordering, I took the pager and sat down to wait. Since I was visiting alone, it was nice and easy to just wait with the pager.

I noticed the table lamp while I was sitting there and somehow found myself staring at it absentmindedly, haha. Sitting alone at lunchtime gave me a moment to rest without thinking about anything. The café was small enough that being on my own did not feel awkward. If anything, it was an atmosphere where I could comfortably eat and leave as a solo diner.

The food arrives

After a short wait, my food came out. First came the kimchi bacon pilaf, potato cream soup, and grapefruit juice, along with the peanut banana French toast I had added. Once the dishes started filling the table one by one, it looked like quite a generous spread for one person, haha.

With the grapefruit juice alongside it, it really felt like a brunch-café lunch.

How was the peanut banana French toast?

And the peanut banana French toast that I added because I was curious! It was ₩9,800.

This dish had peanut spread inside the French toast and sliced banana on top. If you are a French-toast fan, it is the kind of item that would catch your eye on the menu. Like Like had several other kinds of toast too, including maple butter French toast, blueberry compote French toast, ham-cheese-strawberry-jam toast, and kaya butter toast. So if I come back next time, I think I will be curious to try another toast option too.

Personally, I also thought this was worth looking up when searching for a café near the Ilsan KINTEX Pet Fair. You might visit the pet fair with your dog and then need somewhere to rest and eat, and this place welcomes dogs and has brunch dishes ready to go. It was especially nice that it is not simply a coffee café: there are plenty of meal options such as rice dishes, sandwiches, panini, and poke bowls. If you are looking for lunch with your pet, it would be worth checking the menu and location together.

Above all, dogs are welcome and there is a separate dog-snack menu, so it seems especially well suited to anyone looking for a café with their pet. You can enjoy a meal alone like I did, or come for brunch with friends or family. Next time, I would like to have a look at other brunch options such as the panini or sandwiches too, haha.
