I had sushi at Min Cook Dasima!

I went to Min Cook Dasima, a popular spot near Hwajeong Station, for the sushi set and soba sushi set.

Min Cook Dasima is a Japanese restaurant within walking distance of Hwajeong Station. As a sushi specialist, it is especially popular for its neatly presented sushi sets.

For parking at Min Cook Dasima, I could park free for one hour at the E-Mart next door, so it was easy to drive over. It is on the second floor of the building right beside E-Mart, making it easy to find.

What comes with the sushi set?

The Min Cook Dasima sushi set arrived. The food came out very soon after ordering.
The sushi set comes with egg porridge, nine pieces of assorted sushi, braised fish, Japanese steamed egg, soybean paste soup, assorted tempura, and cabbage salad. There is sushi made with seasonal sashimi, plus futomaki (thick sushi roll).

Starting with white fish, there was tuna sushi, salmon sushi, mackerel sushi, and inari sushi too. Each piece is made neatly and served right away, so the sushi was soft and delicious.

I dipped them in soy sauce or wasabi to taste, with rakkyō pickles and the side dishes.

Chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) at a Japanese restaurant is always soft and delicious. The assorted tempura also came in three varieties, and the crisp-outside, tender-inside texture was incredible.

Zaru soba in the soba sushi set
The soba sushi set with chilled soba came out next.

The Min Cook Dasima soba set comes with four pieces of sushi. The sushi is made with the freshest fish available at the time, and I liked the varied combination.

The chilled soba comes with chewy buckwheat noodles and a cool dipping sauce. Since it is zaru soba, meaning noodles dipped in cold sauce, I first mixed the radish and wasabi into the broth.

The buckwheat noodles had such a nice chewy texture that they were perfect for summer.

Dipping the chewy buckwheat noodles into the deeply savory tsuyu (Japanese noodle dipping sauce) was so delicious.

Even loading up the noodles like this gave it a different feel. Pairing them with crispy tempura and sushi made for the perfect balance.
Inside the restaurant and the tables

There are plenty of tables and lots of space inside, making it nice for a meal. The modern style kept me comfortable throughout.

There are group tables too, so it is a good place for gatherings, and I saw plenty of people dining alone. The chairs were comfortable for eating as well.

- Group tables available
- Suitable for solo dining, dates, meals for two to four people, group gatherings, and company dinners
