Today's story: eel seafood pot rice with my boyfriend in Jungja! We went to 🐙Morang Haemul Sotbap🍚, a Jungja Station restaurant.
Where is Morang Haemul Sotbap Jungja Station branch, and when is it open?
Morang Haemul Sotbap Jungja Station branch is on the 2nd floor of Purugio City 2nd Tower, 197 Jeongja-il-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Open daily 11:00–21:30, break time 15:00–17:00, and parking is available.

Morang Haemul Sotbap is on the 2nd floor of the Purugio City building! There's an escalator so it was an easy ride up haha.

The place is huge and pleasant haha. I was thinking of bringing my parents here — I'm definitely coming back with them.

We came for pot rice, but they also sell seafood platters like this — no wonder it's a popular spot for company dinners near Jungja Station!

The interior is spacious and clean, so a lot of families come here for group meals.

What is the reserved window table at Morang Haemul Sotbap like?
We reserved ahead and sat by the window at Morang Haemul Sotbap. The hall is wide and clean, so there were a lot of families around us.
The atmosphere was so much nicer than I expected that I kept thinking I should come back with my parents haha. Definitely lives up to being a Jungja Station restaurant everyone recommends.

Ordering eel sotbap, octopus-scallop sotbap and seafood pajeon
There were so many types of sotbap (pot rice)! My boyfriend went for octopus-scallop sotbap, and since I'm an eel fanatic, I ordered eel sotbap. And of course, a side of haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) too >.<

Since it's made fresh after ordering, it takes 15 minutes! Of course I can wait 15 minutes 💨💨

The seafood pancake came out right away! It was so packed with seafood that I was glad we ordered it..!🤍

Ta-da!✨ My eel sotbap has arrived too. It came piping hot in the pot, and it looked so appetizing~

My eel sotbap and my boyfriend's octopus-scallop sotbap! The side dishes and soup were neatly prepared too, which made me even happier — it felt like a really polished meal!🤎

With the pancake, the table was completely full~

Haemul pajeon packed with squid, shrimp, mussels and oysters
The pancake looked so golden and delicious, right? >.< They gave us onion-chili soy sauce to dip it in, and there was so much seafood in it — great texture, savory and delicious!

Squid, shrimp, mussels, oysters..🦑🦪🦐 A haemul pajeon that truly lives up to its name haha. My boyfriend ate it up saying it was delicious, which made me so proud.

Eel sotbap: an eel rice bowl served as pot rice
The side dishes were beautifully arranged too, right?! I love salted pollack roe, so it went perfectly with the pot rice.
Also, be careful — the pot is really hot. See the steam rising? The eel was so plump and hearty! The sauce was seasoned just salty enough that it was amazing with the rice. It felt like eating an eel don (rice bowl) but as a hot pot?! Getting eel don at this price feels like such a good deal..🤎

Octopus-scallop sotbap: the more filling of the two pots
I tried my boyfriend's octopus-scallop sotbap too — the scallops and octopus were so plump and hearty that each bite was satisfying! There was rice and potato in it together too, so it was really filling >.<

Is Morang Haemul Sotbap a good spot for a family meal?
I ate the eel sotbap wrapped in seaweed like this too haha (know my flavors). Everything at Morang Haemul Sotbap is neat, clean, and delicious, so I think it's a great spot to bring parents or elders for a family meal! If you're looking for a restaurant near Jungja Station, I highly, highly recommend Morang Haemul Sotbap 🐙🍚🤍

For dessert, we each polished off a cup of ice cream at Tokyo Gelato haha.
Keep Morang Haemul Sotbap in mind for dates, dinners, or company meals near Jungja Station — (you'll probably get praised by the elders too).
