What three of us ordered and what it cost
The three of us ordered lamb rib boil for 2 (₩48,000), lamb rib BBQ for 2 (₩50,000), mala bibimbap (₩5,000), and 2 beers + 1 soju (₩15,000), for a total of ₩118,000.

For reference, when we visited in mid-September, there were outdoor tables available, so we ate on the sidewalk seats for the first time in a while — eating outside in this cool weather felt really good. The table had the basic side dishes set up per person as shown above.

Right after we ordered, fresh cabbage salad came out too. The basic side dishes and sauces are varied enough that you can enjoy the same dish in several different flavors and textures.

Mala bibimbap for 5,000 won
Then the mala bibimbap arrived. The spicy numbing flavor is stronger than expected, but mixed with mayonnaise it's the perfect side dish to cut through the lamb's richness.

Lamb rib boil: meat that falls off the bone at a chopstick's touch
Setting the lamb rib boil and BBQ on the table at the same time seemed awkward, so we asked for the boil first. When you open the lid of the big steamer!
There's the delicate lamb rib boil.

A visually stunning full spread was set up in an instant.

The lamb rib boil is covered with a moist blanket of chives. They kept a gentle flame going throughout the meal, so it stayed warm until the very end.
The killer point of Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb ✨️ — lamb ribs that crumble the moment they hit your mouth!
It's boiled so tenderly that the meat comes off the bone with just a light tap of the chopsticks.
There's plenty of lean meat with just the right amount of fat mixed in, so a single bite spreads full flavor through your mouth.

Eating it with the chives and fresh cabbage salad makes it taste even healthier!

There were sauces in sweet, salty, and spicy varieties, so dipping into each one for a different taste was really fun.
How is the lamb rib BBQ different?
We cleared the lamb boil in no time and started round two with the lamb BBQ, haha.
Same lamb ribs as the boil, but this time coated generously in sweet-salty sauce with a full smoky char 🔥

The plating alone is an easy pass.

Once again, thanks to the gentle flame, the food stayed hot until the meal was done.

The texture is similar to the boil, but with a crispier exterior, and the sweet-salty sauce was really delicious.

The meat still fell off the bone easily, as expected.
Dipping it into the accompanying sauce made it an even bigger treat.

Even the nachos got warmed up on the grill, tasting way better than store-bought nacho chips! I've visited Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch several times but had never tried the lamb BBQ before — now I feel like I have to order the boil + BBQ combo every time 👍

Drinks to pair with lamb: a glass of saengjjabaegi
With food this good and this high quality, drinks were a must. We ordered soju and beer, and the owner gave us a fresh jjabaegi as part of a Baeksaeju new menu promotion 🤭

Jjabaegi is like an on-the-rocks drink, served in a big glass full of ice with alcohol poured over it, and what we got was a fresh jjabaegi made with the new fresh Baeksaeju.

I don't really know much about drinking, but I could definitely taste the fruity notes along with a subtle liquor flavor — perfect for getting into the mood of drinking even if you can't drink much. It paired perfectly with the sweet-salty lamb BBQ too!
Is Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb worth a visit?
This was my honest review of the lamb restaurant near Jeongja Station, "Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch." This time I visited as part of a sponsored campaign, but it's actually a go-to Bundang restaurant I already knew and visited often. I brought a friend visiting from out of town this time, and she said she really enjoyed the unusual dishes she was trying for the first time. From the main dishes to the side dishes, this is a place with real care and flavor in every detail. If you're looking for a spot for a work dinner in Bundang, I genuinely, strongly recommend Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb, Bundang Direct Branch!
