Prawn makhani and chow mein dinner: Manokamana, Songdo Indian curry

These days there are moments when I crave something different from the usual food, you know?

This time I wanted Indian food for dinner, so off I went to

It's located inside Songdo Triple Street, so it's a great spot to grab a meal after shopping or on a date.

Manokamana Songdo Branch is an Indian and Nepali specialty restaurant inside Songdo Triple Street&7. This time I visited for dinner, and it felt totally different from the Korean or Western food I usually eat, so it was nice to enjoy something unusual for a change.

Indian curry can feel intimidating at first because of the spices, but Manokamana seems designed so that both first-timers and people who already love Indian food can enjoy it. Instead of just picking one curry, you can mix and match butter chicken, prawn curry, tandoori chicken, samosa, lassi and more — that's the best part!

Butter chicken curry with honey naan and garlic naan

The first dish we ordered at Manokamana was the butter chicken curry. Butter chicken curry is a mild chicken curry made with fresh tomatoes, cream and spices.

Being a tomato-based curry, it had a soft, savory flavor along with the aromatic spices.

+Ordering naan to go with it is a must! We always make sure to get honey naan and garlic naan.

Prawn makhani, the shrimp curry at Manokamana

Second was the prawn makhani, a curry with prawns. It's a prawn curry made with fresh tomato sauce, cream and herbs.

Noodles too: prawn chow mein

It felt like a waste to only order curry, so we also got the prawn chow mein. We were debating whether to just order curry, but decided to add a noodle dish too. Prawn chow mein is stir-fried prawns and vegetables cooked together with boiled noodles.

Is Manokamana worth it for dinner at Songdo Triple Street?

If you love the spice-forward flavor of Indian curry, this place is great, and even if you're trying it for the first time, you can choose according to your taste without feeling overwhelmed.

Since it's inside Triple Street&7, it's also easy to walk around the area after eating, and the atmosphere suited a Songdo date, a family dinner, or a get-together with friends. On a day when you want something a bit different from the usual Songdo food, if you're searching for Songdo restaurants or Songdo Central Park restaurants, Manokamana Songdo Branch, where you can enjoy Indian and Nepali food, is worth adding to the list.
