Half-and-half gopchang grill in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon: Yeonsu Gopchang
In short
Yeonsu Gopchang (Yeonsu Main Branch) is a pork gopchang (grilled pork intestine) and makchang (grilled pork rectum) restaurant in the food alley on Saemmal-ro 21beon-gil in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. On a weekend evening visit the order was salt-grilled makchang and spicy gopchang stir-fry served half-and-half, plus a cheese bomb steamed egg, with a free kettle of eomuk (fish cake) soup and sundae with liver on the house. The verdict: pairing the nutty salt-grilled makchang with the fiery gopchang stir-fry is the best way to order at Yeonsu Gopchang.

Yeonsu Gopchang in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon: the pork gopchang spot a 5-year regular keeps returning to
Yeonsu Gopchang is a pork gopchang and makchang grill at 13-5 Saemmal-ro 21beon-gil, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. I've loved this place since it was Miro Gopchang five years ago... whenever I crave pork gopchang, it's Yeonsu Gopchang, no question.

I went on a weekend evening and there was a wait. Got lucky and didn't have to wait long before getting in.
Where to park at Yeonsu Gopchang
Parking is easy — they support 2 hours free at the nearby public lots (Neulbom underground lot, Matgoeul-gil public lot). Super convenient, maybe a 2-minute walk.

How to order at Yeonsu Gopchang after trying the whole menu
The Yeonsu Gopchang set comes with makchang, gopchang, gopchang hot pot, AND fried rice. Insane value, but I figured we couldn't finish it all, so I ordered à la carte instead.
As someone who's eaten the entire menu at Yeonsu Gopchang, the salt-grilled makchang + spicy gopchang stir-fry half-and-half is the winner. The savory salt-grilled makchang paired with the seriously punchy spicy gopchang stir-fry is killer... eat them together and you could eat forever.
If you like takoyaki, the teriyaki makchang is also good. But I highly recommend going half-and-half with the spicy one.
- Spicy gopchang stir-fry (ttaengcho gopchang bokkeum) — spicy
- Salt-grilled makchang
- Cheese bomb steamed egg
Order!!!! This is total drinking food, but since our place is nowhere near walkable without a car, it's such a shame I've never once had a drink here... ugh.

Free eomuk soup, sundae and side dishes at Yeonsu Gopchang
Yeonsu Gopchang's service eomuk (fish cake) soup comes out in a kettle — just pour the broth into a paper cup and drink. Just a good, savory fish cake broth, nice and plump. Eaten with the pickled onion side dish, it's delicious.

Basic side dishes plus service sundae + liver. The service sundae is tasty too... salty-savory with great umami.

Why the cheese bomb steamed egg beats the plain one
Skip the regular steamed egg. I 100% recommend the cheese bomb steamed egg. Mind-blowing. Piled with a ton of cheese, and not the cheap stuff either. You get the full flavor of the cheese. Since we're low on protein, I'm keeping the steamed egg in the rotation...

Salt-grilled makchang and spicy gopchang stir-fry half-and-half: how it tastes
The Yeonsu Gopchang salt-grilled makchang + spicy gopchang stir-fry, for two people, is super cheap and the portion is generous. There's a chive salad on top — good eaten raw or grilled. Personally I love the raw chive salad. Since it's freshly tossed each time, it tastes even better.

The makchang is already savory, and then they pile on perilla seeds. It's not just the makchang that's good — the vegetables are mind-blowing too. It'd been so long since I had pork makchang, and I enjoyed it so much. The crispy fried rice cake on top is another killer point.

Eat the spicy gopchang stir-fry with mayo and perilla leaves
If you like spicy food, the spicy gopchang is a must, no question. It's properly spicy, so it pairs reeeeeally well with mayonnaise. Glass noodles are already mixed in, no need to add extra, so you get glass noodles soaked in the sauce too!!
The spicy gopchang stir-fry is on the salty side, so it's better eaten wrapped in perilla leaf with mayo rather than plain. The mayo really lets it show its true colors.

For the makchang, skip the mayo and go with the chive salad instead!

Is Yeonsu Gopchang worth a visit? Final verdict
Generous portions, and truly the best drinking food... it's a shame every time that I can't drink here. Also the fried rice here is supposed to be excellent — I held off since I'm dieting. You all should definitely get the fried rice too, it's seriously good.
