Gangneung café at sunset for passionfruit ade: Baegya Coffee
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large ocean-view bakery café on the coastal road right in front of Gyeongpo Beach and Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung, with four floors including a rooftop. Arriving at sunset straight from the beach, the writer ordered Baegya Coffee's signature oksigi corn ice cream, a warm milk tea and a passionfruit ade; much of the bakery had sold out by that hour, but the seating layout still gave sea views from the inner tables. It is a Gangneung ocean-view café with plenty of choices even in the evening, when coffee feels too heavy.

Where is Baegya Coffee in Gangneung?
Baegya Coffee is a large café on the coastal road near Gyeongpodae, Gyeongpo Beach, and Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung. When traveling around Gangneung, you naturally start looking for an ocean-view café where you can sip a coffee while watching the sea.
The place I visited is called Baegya Coffee, a large café near Gyeongpodae, Gyeongpo Beach, and Sacheonjin Beach. It sits along the coastal road near Sacheonjin, and the ocean view up close was really the charm of the place.

An open sea view, a spacious layout, and a comfortable atmosphere for relaxing are the strengths that come up often in Gangneung ocean-view café recommendations.
We actually swam at the beach and then headed straight to the café — a one-second commute, basically.
How much bakery is left at Baegya Coffee by sunset?

Since Baegya Coffee is a bakery café, it has a huge variety of bread normally. I visited near sunset, so a lot had already sold out, but even what remained showed how big the display case really is — I imagine there's usually a much wider range.

It was a bit of a shame going that late, so next time I want to come earlier and try more of the bakery menu. You know bread tastes even better paired with coffee while looking at the sea, right?

There's a wide drink menu too, so check the menu board above before you visit. Since we came in the evening, I worried coffee might not sit well, but having so many other options was great!
Four floors and a rooftop: which seats have sea views?

Baegya Coffee is a large bakery café with four floors including a rooftop. The moment you step up to the higher floors, the wide-open sea view hits you first. The overall interior is clean and stylish too. As soon as you walk in, you just go, 'oh, this place is really nice' — it comes out on its own!

Large windows facing the sea combined with the spacious layout made me feel like I was truly on a Gangneung trip, even just sitting inside the café. The seating arrangement at Baegya Coffee was impressive too. At most ocean-view cafés, you usually can't see the sea well unless you're at a window seat, but here it felt like they paid attention to seat height and placement so the sea is visible from every table.

Even sitting at an inner table, my view forward wasn't blocked, so I could see the sea plenty without needing to fight for a window seat — that's Baegya Coffee, an ocean-view café in Gangneung.
Baegya Coffee's signature oksigi corn ice cream

The one thing I really wanted to try at Baegya Coffee was the corn ice cream — known as the signature menu, oksigi corn ice cream. It's a dessert that plays up corn's distinctive sweet, nutty flavor, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something special during a Gangneung trip.
The yellow color alone screams corn, which makes it cute, and the corn kernels mixed into the ice cream add a nice bite. If you want to try a Gangneung-only signature menu rather than just any regular ice cream, I'd recommend this one.

Warm milk tea and passionfruit ade for an evening visit
A warm milk tea at the café, relaxing at sunset, was completely healing! My sister ordered a refreshing passionfruit ade, haha.
From coffee to non-coffee options, the menu covers everything, so no matter what time you visit, this Gangneung ocean-view café near Gyeongpodae and Sacheonjin Beach — Baegya Coffee — never feels limiting.
