Gyeongpodae café in Gangneung for sausage pastry: Baegya Coffee
In short
Baegya Coffee is an ocean-view bakery café near Gyeongpodae Beach at 607 Haean-ro, Gangneung, Gangwon, occupying all three floors of the building. On a trip through Gangneung, the writer ordered a sausage pastry and chocolate bread with an Americano and a pink grape drink, then settled in by a window facing the sea. Pairing one savory pastry with one sweet one worked well alongside the coffee, but the real draw at Baegya Coffee is eating with the ocean in view.

You really can't skip the sea on a trip to Gangneung, right? This time too, I went looking for somewhere I could sit close to the water and enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee, and that's how I ended up at Baegya Coffee.

Where is Baegya Coffee in Gangneung?
Baegya Coffee is located at 607 Haean-ro, Gangneung, Gangwon, and it's a fairly large café spanning the first to third floors. But honestly, its biggest draw is the ocean view.

With the blue sea stretching out and the sound of waves in the background, it was the perfect atmosphere to take a break during a Gangneung trip.
A place to rest with the Gyeongpodae sea in view
Gangneung has so many pretty cafés, but personally, when I travel I care not just about a tasty drink but also about the atmosphere that's unique to the region.

In that sense, Baegya Coffee felt like a great place to spend some relaxed time right in front of the sea. Just sitting there watching the blue ocean through the window already made it feel like a proper trip.

On a nice, sunny day the color of the sea really pops too, so it seemed like a great spot for photos while sipping coffee. With the sound of waves added in, it felt like a nice little pause after running around noisy tourist spots.
Three floors of seating at Baegya Coffee
I also liked that Baegya Coffee uses the first through third floors, so the space feels nice and roomy.

When you're traveling around Gangneung there's a lot of walking, so there are moments you just want to sit down and rest. This seemed like a great place for that — order coffee and bread and take your time looking out at the sea.

It's a good spot to chat if you're traveling with friends, and just as nice for a relaxed date looking out at the ocean if you're visiting with a partner.

Since you've made it all the way to Gangneung, a place where you can really feel the sea does more for the trip's mood than an ordinary café would.
Why we chose the sausage pastry and the chocolate bread
The bakery items I chose this time at Baegya Coffee were the sausage pastry and chocolate bread. Since I was already at a café, ordering just a drink felt like a waste, so I picked out some bread too.

First, the sausage pastry combines flaky pastry with sausage, so it was a simple way to fill up when hungry.

Eating it with coffee, the salty sausage flavor paired nicely with the nutty richness of the pastry. When you're traveling, having a bit of bread between meals is kind of secretly delicious, isn't it?

The chocolate bread was sweet, which paired nicely with the Americano. If I'd picked only one bread, it might have felt a little lacking — but choosing the savory sausage pastry along with the sweet chocolate bread let me enjoy two different flavors side by side.
Bread, drinks and the ocean in one sitting
That day at Baegya Coffee I ordered the sausage pastry, chocolate bread, an Americano, and a pink grapefruit drink.

Even if everyone wants something different, it was nice being able to choose from bread, coffee, and fruit drinks. But more than the food itself, the biggest point was simply eating while looking out at the sea.

The same cup of coffee just feels different when you're sipping it while looking out at the blue sea on a trip. Watching the ocean through the window, listening to the waves, taking a bite of bread, sipping my drink — time passed by faster than I expected.
A Gyeongpodae café worth a stop on a Gangneung trip
Since so many people visit Gangneung specifically for the sea, there are also plenty of people looking for ocean-view cafés.

If you're looking for a café near Gyeongpodae in Gangneung and want to see the sea up close, Baegya Coffee is worth adding to your list.

It's less a place for just coffee and more somewhere you can enjoy bakery items alongside a variety of drinks, making it a nice spot for a simple snack break.
Looking for an ocean-view café in Gangneung?

This visit to Baegya Coffee was a great fit for anyone who wants to properly take in the sea while enjoying coffee and bakery items during a Gangneung trip.

While traveling, eating a lot of good food, taking photos, and wandering around, just sitting down for a moment to look at the sea already felt like it eased some of the trip's fatigue.

So if you're looking for an ocean-view café in Gangneung, I'd recommend enjoying coffee and bread at Baegya Coffee while taking in the Gyeongpodae sea view.

Next time I'm back in Gangneung, this is a place I'd love to stop by again for a relaxed cup of coffee looking out at the sea.
