Goyang bakery café with a self-bar to warm bread: Baedagol Bakery

In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a garden-view bakery café on Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil in Deokyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. Baedagol Bakery House has indoor seats on the first and second floors plus outdoor garden seating, and a self-bar where you can warm the bread you buy — I heated the mentaiko (pollock roe) salt bread and ordered melon bingsu (shaved ice) alongside it. A few melon pieces were slightly firm, but Baedagol Bakery House is an easy place to linger over bread and dessert with a green garden in view.

What you see walking into Baedagol Bakery House: the green garden view

The first thing that caught my eye at Baedagol Bakery House was, of course, the garden... this healing-garden vibe is really trending in cafés lately.

Outdoor café garden tables surrounded by trees and plants

There are so many trees and plants around the café that it genuinely feels like you've stepped into a forest haha. There are tables outside too, so on a nice day it'd be amazing to sit outdoors with bakery bread and coffee.

Especially in weather like this, not too hot and not too cold, the outdoor seats are definitely going to be popular!

Wood-tone interior and the second-floor group table

The interior of Baedagol Bakery House is split between the 1st and 2nd floors, and there's a big table in the corner of the 2nd floor that's great for a group. Overall it's bright with a lot of wood-tone furniture.

You can see trees through the big windows, so even sitting indoors you get a constant green view. There's quite a lot of seating on the 1st floor, and with the 2nd floor too the space felt more spacious than I expected!

Large group table in the corner of the 2nd floor

In the corner of the 2nd floor there's a big table good for several people, so it'd work well for a get-together with friends or a family visit. It'd suit anyone looking for a quiet spot to chat around the Ilsan or Wondang café area!

Bread selection and how the self-bar warming works

The bakery case at Baedagol Bakery House had a pretty wide variety, from salt bread to croissants to sweeter breads. And there was a self-bar on one side where you could warm up the bread you bought!

Picking bread while looking out at the garden through the window somehow made everything look even more delicious haha.

Bread tastes even better with the aroma brought back when you eat it slightly warm ㅠㅠ. Having a space like this set up is such a nice touch.

Melon bingsu at Baedagol Bakery House: packed with melon

As soon as I spotted melon in the display case, I ordered the melon bingsu (shaved ice dessert) without a second thought haha. Round scooped melon balls were piled generously on top of the shaved ice, and the look of it alone had that end-of-summer feel.

The melon itself was sweet, and eaten together with the ice cream it was soft and cool and delicious!

That said, a few pieces of melon were a bit on the firm side — if it had been a touch riper it probably would have been much sweeter and softer. Still, overall there was a lot of fruit on top, so if you like melon it's worth trying once 🍈

Is the mentaiko salt bread too salty?

The mentaiko (pollock roe) salt bread at Baedagol Bakery House wasn't overly salty, so it went well with the bingsu without feeling heavy. Honestly, bread with mentaiko can get tiring fast if it's too salty, but this one was better than I expected.

The savory bread had just the right amount of mentaiko's distinctive umami on top, so eating it alongside the bingsu wasn't overwhelming at all. Taking a bite in between the sweet stuff, the sweet-and-salty combo was pretty great haha. Warming it up once at the self-bar brings the crust back to life for an even better bite!

A Goyang café with outdoor garden seats to rest in

Food aside, the atmosphere of the space itself was what stuck with me the most.

Garden path and outdoor seating view

With green trees and a garden, plus a garden view through the big windows even indoors, it felt more relaxed than a downtown café. Parking is ample and there's seating across both the 1st and 2nd floors, so it seemed good for a family visit or a group gathering on the weekend. Especially on a nice day, sitting outside with coffee and bread sounds like a genuinely good time 🌿

Overall verdict on Baedagol Bakery House

  • ✔️ A Goyang café with a pretty garden view
  • ✔️ Ample parking
  • ✔️ 1st & 2nd floor + outdoor seats
  • ✔️ Wide variety of bakery items
  • ✔️ Self-bar lets you warm up bread
  • ✔️ Recommend the melon bingsu + mentaiko salt bread combo

If you want to enjoy bakery items and dessert at a relaxed pace while looking at a green view, Baedagol Bakery House was solid! Especially in weather like this, it's perfect for sitting outside, so if you're looking for a Goyang café / Ilsan café / Wondang café, it's worth a visit :)
