In short

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a gukbap (rice-and-soup) restaurant in Ingye-dong near Suwon City Hall Station that serves Jeju-style haejangguk (hangover soup) alongside dombe pork (boiled pork slices). After a weekend hike up Gwanggyosan, the writer ordered a basic haejangguk, a second bowl without blood cubes, medium dombe pork for 24,000 won, and Jipyeong makgeolli, and finished the peppery broth down to the soft layer of fat. With about 25 free parking spaces out front and underground, plus a free bowl of rice with each meal ordered, Jeju Eunhuine is an easy choice for group meals after a hike or a family dinner.

Haejangguk and dombe pork spread at Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch

Spicy, refreshing Jeju-style haejangguk plus melt-in-your-mouth dombe pork! A hearty gukbap (soup with rice) spot in Ingye-dong with super convenient parking — Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch.

Where is Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, and when is it open?

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a Jeju-style hangover soup restaurant at 28 Hyowon-ro 265beon-gil, 1F 102, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open weekdays 10:00-22:30 and weekends (Sat-Sun) 09:00-21:30, closed the day before and day of major holidays, and offers both takeout, delivery, and parking.

After an early weekend hike up Mt. Gwanggyo, all I could think about was hot soup and tender boiled pork! I visited a real hidden gem in Ingye-dong, Suwon — a place where you can enjoy Jeju-style haejangguk (hangover soup) and dombe pork together — Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch.

Restaurant entrance decorated with basalt stone wall and dol hareubang statues

Ever since my trip to Jeju Island last spring, I've been craving that Jeju-style haejangguk flavor from time to time, so I was so happy to find it right here in Ingye-dong, Suwon +_+ Next to the entrance there's a Jeju basalt stone wall and dol hareubang (stone grandfather statues) — it felt like I'd been teleported to Jeju right in the middle of Suwon!! Plus, in an area where parking is notoriously hard, this place has a spacious lot, making it super convenient to visit by car!

Seating and atmosphere: does Jeju Eunhuine fit a hiking group?

Walking into Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, it was super spacious and clean. Instead of the usual rustic gukbap-restaurant feel, it had a bright, tidy vibe. There's even a map of Jeju hanging on the wall, giving it a full-on Jeju-trip feeling!

They have a range of seating from 2-person tables up to 4- and 6-person tables, with generous space between them. It seemed like a great spot not just for solo dining or lunch, but also for family meals, work dinners, and group gatherings!

Generously spaced 4-person table seating

Each table has a tablet for ordering, so you can order comfortably without having to flag down staff — nice touch!

What's at the self-serve corner?

Free bowl of rice with every meal ordered

You can help yourself to as much as you'd like from the self-serve corner — cheongyang chili peppers, minced garlic, doenjang (soybean paste), kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), and more — plus condiments like chili oil, pepper, salt, and mustard sauce, along with scissors, tongs, ladles, and even kids' spoons and forks. A truly thoughtful gukbap spot in Ingye-dong for dining out :)

Free rice refill sign and self-serve rice station

Best of all, rice refills are free with any single order per person! I was hungry from hiking, so being able to eat plenty of rice too was such a sweet deal for anyone who wants to eat until full ♡ Just remember to only take what you'll actually eat!

Parking at Jeju Eunhuine in Ingye-dong

About 10 spots in front of the building plus 15 in the underground lot, roughly 25 free parking spots total. A restaurant with this much free parking in Ingye-dong, where parking spots are precious, is amazing!! No parking stress even on a weekend visit.

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch menu and prices

Menu board listing haejangguk and dombe pork

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch offers not just their signature haejangguk, but also blood-cube hangover soup, tripe soup, Jeju-style dombe pork, and seasoned tripe salad. A bowl of gukbap is perfect for a lunch craving rich broth, while dombe pork or tripe salad pairs nicely with a drink in the evening. Since we wanted a hearty meal after hiking, we ordered one haejangguk each per person plus Jeju-style dombe pork.

You can ask to have the blood cubes and chili paste left out of the haejangguk when ordering. If you can't eat blood cubes, skip those; if you find spicy food too much, skip the chili paste for a clean, mild broth. Order however suits your taste haha.

Ordering and payment are all done conveniently via the tablet at each table! Since a photo of the menu alone felt lacking, I also recorded a video of the different menu items — hope it helps!

Sign showing cooked and uncooked takeout options

If you don't have time to eat in-store, or want to enjoy Jeju-style haejangguk at home, takeout is available too! You can get either ready-to-eat cooked takeout or uncooked takeout to boil yourself at home. Since takeout's an option, next time I should grab some haejangguk for my parents too~~

What we ordered: two bowls of haejangguk, medium dombe pork and makgeolli

  • Haejangguk (basic) ₩12,000
  • Haejangguk (no blood cubes) ₩12,000
  • Dombe pork (medium) ₩24,000
  • Makgeolli ₩4,000

Ta-da! Our ordered haejangguk and dombe pork filled the whole table~ With bubbling haejangguk, dombe pork, and makgeolli all together, my energy spent hiking was instantly restored! Hahaha. Just looking at the table packed with food made my mouth water~~

The basic side dishes were kkakdugi and chili peppers, which are a perfect match with haejangguk. Crunchy, spicy kkakdugi! This place is a kkakdugi champion too~~

Jeju-style dombe pork sliced on a cutting board

Medium dombe pork for 24,000 won: how does it taste?

In Jeju dialect, 'dombe' means cutting board. The dombe pork comes sliced into bite-sized pieces on the cutting board, with just the right ratio of lean meat to fat — not dry at all, but moist and tender!

A piece of dombe pork with lean meat and fat combined
Dombe pork served with cabbage and ssamjang

There was almost no gamy smell to the meat, and it had a clean, savory juiciness that was delicious even eaten plain!! I piled dombe pork onto the fresh cabbage that came with it, then topped it generously with garlic, cheongyang chili, and ssamjang (dipping paste), and dug in. The crunchy cabbage and tender meat mixed with the pungent garlic and spicy chili made my whole mouth taste like Jeju~ The fat attached to the meat was silky-soft, and the lean part was clean-tasting — so, so good.

A bite of dombe pork followed by a sip of makgeolli~ Ahh~ Dombe pork and makgeolli is true love ❤️ It felt like all the sweat I shed on the mountain was fully rewarded! The combo of dombe pork and makgeolli after a weekend hike is truly irresistible~

Basic haejangguk vs. haejangguk without blood cubes

My friend can't eat blood cubes so she ordered without them, while I ordered the basic haejangguk with both blood cubes and chili paste included. Even the same haejangguk can be adjusted to leave out blood cubes or chili paste depending on preference, so anyone who can't eat blood cubes or wants it less spicy can order without worry.

Basic haejangguk served boiling in a stone bowl

There were also chewy glass noodles inside the haejangguk! Slurping up noodles soaked in the rich broth gave a chewy, spicy savoriness that was the best~ As a noodle-lover, I absolutely adore gukbap with glass noodles in it. Heart, heart ❤️

A chunk of meat falling apart along the grain in the haejangguk

The meat came in big chunks too, but they were so tender they fell apart along the grain! The blood cubes weren't dry either — moist and soft, easily separated with just a light press of the spoon! Soaked in the rich broth, the blood cubes were savory and clean-tasting, a perfect match with the spicy soup!!

You can't talk about Jeju-style haejangguk without mentioning minced garlic! When I had haejangguk in Jeju last spring, I loaded it up with minced garlic too, and getting a generous portion here brought back fond memories of Jeju~~~ If you run low on minced garlic, you can grab more from the self-serve bar, so garlic lovers, pile it on!

Spicy haejangguk broth with minced garlic added

I hadn't even been drinking the night before, but one bite in and I let out an involuntary 'ahh~' as my stomach instantly felt soothed hahaha. Rich but not heavy, spicy and refreshing — my spoon kept going back to the broth~ Thanks to the crunchy bean sprouts, the aftertaste was clean and cool!

My friend's haejangguk without blood cubes had a cleaner broth flavor without them, and it still had plenty of meat, so it didn't feel lacking at all. After tasting the broth a bit, my friend neatly mixed in the rice hahaha.

Rice mixed into haejangguk topped with bean sprouts and meat

Piling on plenty of bean sprouts and meat, then topping it with a piece of crunchy kkakdugi, for one big bite! Between the soft rice and meat, the tangy-spicy crunch of kkakdugi made the combo undeniably delicious. With gukbap, mixing rice in at the end and topping with kkakdugi is just the unwritten rule~ I cleaned out my whole bowl.

"Shake it, and the story begins." What a sentimental line on the Jipyeong makgeolli bottle haha. With dombe pork in front of you after a hike and a glass of makgeolli going down, even stories you didn't have start flowing out. Yep, yep.

After finishing a satisfying meal and heading out, the counter had hand sanitizer, business cards, toothpicks, and after-meal candy all neatly set up. The toothpicks come from a sensor dispenser that releases automatically when you bring your hand close — such a hygienic, thoughtful touch! I grabbed a cool mint candy at the end for a refreshing finish. After a hike up Mt. Gwanggyo, having hot haejangguk, dombe pork, and a glass of makgeolli felt like a proper Jeju getaway — such a great meal!

Is Jeju Eunhuine worth it after a hike? The verdict

The spicy yet refreshing haejangguk is great not just as a hangover cure the morning after drinking, but also whenever you want a hearty lunch, while the tender, clean-tasting dombe pork is a great side dish to pair with makgeolli or soju.
