Late-night haejangguk after BBQ in Ingye-dong, Suwon: Jeju Eunhuine

In short

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a Jeju-style haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, a 3-minute walk from Exit 8 of Suwon City Hall Station. After a first round of grilled pork, the writer came here for a second round with two younger siblings and ordered haejangguk, dombe pork and tripe salad; the soup, made with beef bone broth simmered for over 24 hours, and the melt-in-the-mouth dombe pork stood out. With a self-serve bar and parking, Jeju Eunhuine is an easy Ingye-dong gukbap spot for a late hangover-soup stop.

Lunch in Ingye-dong, Suwon, and a great spot for round-two hangover soup: Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch.

I like sharing the good stuff haha. My siblings and I got together after a long while and had a really fun time. We had Korean BBQ for round one, and then craved hangover soup for round two, so we went looking for a soup restaurant. It was a spot I found out about through my sibling's recommendation — apparently it's famous as a local favorite.

Let me start the story of Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, a great gukbap restaurant near Suwon City Hall Station for hangover soup in Ingye-dong.

Side dishes and what the three of us ordered

The basic table setting came with kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and vegetables that pair well with dombe pork. That mu-kimchi (radish kimchi) in particular was really refreshing, clean, and packed with savory depth.

We ordered haejangguk, dombe pork, and tripe salad.

What is dombe pork?

Dombe pork is a traditional Jeju-style boiled pork dish — pork boiled until tender and served in thick slices, with a clean meaty flavor and a moist texture that's so soft it just melts in your mouth.

Wrapping the tender boiled pork and tripe salad vegetables in fresh lettuce was so good — the crunch of the cabbage, the moistness of the pork, and the savory sauce all came together beautifully. The natural nuttiness of the meat paired so well with the spicy sauce that I kept reaching for more.

Jeju-style blood-cube haejangguk as a second round

The haejangguk is a Jeju-style beef blood hangover soup made with bone broth simmered over 24 hours, giving it a really rich, deep flavor, and it's packed with brisket and shank meat, bean sprouts, glass noodles, and blood cubes. One spoonful and you get that deep bone broth flavor first, followed by a savory note and the refreshing crunch of bean sprouts for a clean finish.

Tripe salad, best eaten with dombe pork

The tripe salad is a special dish of chewy beef tripe and fresh vegetables tossed in a spicy-tangy sauce — the more you chew, the more the savory tripe flavor and crunchy vegetable texture come through, and the sweet-and-tangy sauce whets your appetite, pairing great alongside meat. I kept eating it together with the dombe pork.
