Daejeon burger restaurant with triple-cheese burger: Burgiz Daeheung
In short
Burgiz Daeheung is a handmade burger restaurant in Daeheung-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. I ordered a Cheese Bang with a fried egg, a Hangover burger, chicken salad, and chili fries à la carte. Verdict: a hearty, reliably delicious stop after Sungsimdang.

Burgiz Daeheung near Sungsimdang: location and parking
Burgiz, one of the first places that comes to mind for handmade burgers in Daejeon, opened its Burgiz Daeheung branch in Daeheung-dong, so I hurried over for a burger!

Burgiz Daeheung near Sungsimdang is right next to Sariwon Myeonok! I think it is where the old Church & Dance Hall used to be, haha. Parking in Daeheung-dong is tough, but Burgiz Daeheung has spaces right beside the building, plus a public parking lot in the alley across from it, so it is fairly easy to park!

You can look over the menu before going in, complete with photos and a list of ingredients. Such a thoughtful touch at this great handmade-burger spot in Daeheung-dong, Burgiz Daeheung.

Spacious seating and solo-dining spots
The interior was super spacious and hip! The decor and mood were different again from Burgiz Tanbang, and there were quite a lot of seats. I visited on a weekday not long after opening, thinking there would not be many people, but it was full from noon on...!

There was also a space for people dining alone, and the layout was planned well. They can accommodate plenty of guests in the large space and the turnover looked quick, so even if there is a wait, it should move fast, haha.

The interior was pretty too, and this Daeheung-dong favorite even had a self-serve sauce bar and a hand-washing sink tucked away on one side! On top of that, every staff member was so kind, so I left after a really pleasant meal 😃

Burgers and salad ordered à la carte
Since you cannot swap the fries in a set for chili fries, I ordered à la carte. Unlike the Burgiz Tanbang branch, this one has salad too, so I made sure to order the salad with added chicken!

Mango Jarritos, which I had not seen in ages, haha. They give you an ice cup when you order a drink! If your drinks overlap, it seemed like one drink would do, right? Cola and cider come from a dispenser, and you can bring your own ice cup over. The cups are big enough that one is plenty to share between two people, haha.

The burgers come out nice and neatly put together! One order of fries is generous enough for two to share too, so if you are visiting as a pair, I recommend one set plus one extra burger à la carte!

Cheese Bang with a fried egg and the Hangover
We had the Hangover, which I have eaten countless times at Burgiz, plus a Cheese Bang with a fried egg added! I ordered the Cheese Bang, and cheese lovers will really enjoy this one with its three kinds of cheese 🧀

The savory, nutty quality of the cheese comes through beautifully in Burgiz's Cheese Bang, so I think cheese lovers would absolutely be into this burger.

What does the salad with fried toppings taste like?
The salad arrived, and the staff member told us to pour on the sauce, close it up like a lunchbox, and shake it before eating! The broccoli, enoki mushrooms, and chicken were all fried toppings, and the salad dressing had a bit of a punch, so it did not feel especially fresh.

All the salad vegetables were fresh, and it was a salad menu that really captured Burgiz's own character. It was bold but not heavy, and even though I do not eat broccoli, frying it made it so tasty that I finished it all—magic.. 🪄

The burger on top was the Hangover, and the one below was the Cheese Bang. I love fried eggs, so I added one; it balanced the cheese flavor that might otherwise have become a little rich, and I absolutely loved it!

Because some of the cheese was grilled until crisp, the texture was great too, while the Hangover was a textbook handmade burger, haha. It tasted exactly like the reason Burgiz has expanded all the way to Daeheung-dong, and it really felt like they have stayed consistently good for such a long time!

Chili fries with sour cream
The chili fries felt a little like eating Mexican food, and they were so good mixed with the sour cream on top, haha. I added garlic butter sauce, and dipping the fries without chili sauce into the garlic sauce was insanely tasty too ㅠㅠㅠ I visited Burgiz Tanbang about three weeks ago?? and then came to Burgiz Daeheung, and it is still the kind of flavor that makes me want to go back again! Burgiz is a place I would recommend as a local favorite in Daejeon, haha. Now that there is a Daeheung branch too, how about Burgiz after stopping by Sungsimdang?
