What comes in the weekday lunch sets?

What I ordered that day were the tonkatsu-soba set and the special sushi set. Maybe because it was lunchtime, the lunch set prices felt pretty reasonable.

Since this lineup is only available on weekday lunches, if you're trying to figure out what to eat near Hwajeong Station, I'd recommend visiting on a weekday.

How is the pork cutlet soba set?

Min Cook Dasima's tonkatsu-soba set laid out

The tonkatsu-soba set came with crispy tonkatsu (pork cutlet) alongside cold soba (buckwheat noodles), making it a hearty single meal.

The soba noodles had a chewy bite and the broth's seasoning was clean, so eating it alongside the tonkatsu didn't feel greasy at all — I liked that.

How is the special sushi set served?

Min Cook Dasima's special sushi set came with a generous plate of assorted sushi, filling enough just to look at.

The rice grains held their shape well and the sashimi was fresh, so I could really taste the sushi for what it was. The tempura that came with it stayed crispy too, so switching between textures as I ate was part of the fun.

The tempura and side dishes that came along were well put together, so it felt like a properly set table. Since it came as a set meal, porridge, salad, and various side dishes rounded things out into a satisfying finish.

That said, since this place is popular, there can be a wait during lunch hours, so I'd recommend visiting with some time to spare.

Is Min Cook Dasima worth it for lunch near Hwajeong Station?

I wanted to recommend Min Cook Dasima to anyone looking for a good restaurant near Hwajeong Station. True to a Hundred-Year Store that's held its ground for so long, it was a place where you could taste the hands-on care in every dish.

Both the tonkatsu-soba set and the special sushi set were satisfying, but the sushi set in particular — with its well-formed rice and fresh sashimi — made me understand why it's so often mentioned as a top sushi spot near Hwajeong Station. The tonkatsu-soba set was also light yet filling, an easy recommendation for a lunch menu.

The lunch set was so well put together that I want to come back for dinner and try something different next time. It seems like a good place to remember whenever you're deciding what to eat near Hwajeong Station, or when you want a tidy, proper meal with family or friends.
