Jeongwang Station eel restaurant, ₩32,900 for 2 hours: Songrim Bok
In short
Songrim Bok Jangeo Jeongwang Direct Branch is an all-you-can-eat freshwater eel restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi, a 5-minute walk from Jeongwang Station. Two of us ate unlimited eel plus a bowl of rice and a drink for ₩32,900 per person including the table setting fee, and the owner managed the grill heat and turned the eel for us. Keep the 2-hour limit and the ₩3,000 fee for leftovers in mind, and Songrim Bok Jangeo is a solid place to refuel.

What kind of place is Songrim Bok Jangeo Jeongwang Direct Branch?
Songrim Bok Jangeo Jeongwang Direct Branch is an all-you-can-eat freshwater eel restaurant in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, 5 minutes on foot from Jeongwang Station and 3 minutes from Sihwa Hospital. The unlimited eel refill costs ₩32,900 per person including the table setting fee, and it's open from 11:30 to 22:00.
Since eel is so good for you, if you're heading to Sihwa Hospital for a checkup or just visiting Jeongwang-dong, it might be worth stopping by with the family! When I went, a lot of families were there too. The owner kept an eye on the fire strength, the grill plate, and the eel as it cooked, so I could eat comfortably the whole time!! Such a kind owner!!!

True to a Baegot local favorite, the space in front of the restaurant was basically a whole parking lot. With such solid parking facilities, it looked really convenient for driving there.
Inside Songrim Bok Jangeo: seating and setup

The inside of Songrim Bok Jangeo Jeongwang Direct Branch was bigger than I expected. It looked great for work dinners or group gatherings in Jeongwang-dong.

The restaurant is especially long from front to back, so the space felt well divided into sections. There was no trouble moving around either.
What's on the menu

Bokbunja (Korean black raspberry wine) goes so well with eel. They also have eel soup, yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), buckwheat mak-guksu noodles, and bibim-myeon, so if you get tired of eel after a while, I'd recommend pairing it with a refreshing soup too.
What two of us ordered, and what it cost
The unlimited eel refill is ₩29,900 per person, but the table setting fee is mandatory, so you should calculate it as ₩32,900! Since it was just the two of us, we had two eel refill orders with one bowl of rice and one drink.

We really piled the eel up like a mountain and ate. The fire was so strong!!! We grilled and ate 4 pieces at a time, twice, but I'd say it's better to put on fewer pieces at once!!

Along with eel, pork belly and duck neck also came out, which is great for family meals since kids often don't eat eel that well! I thought that part was really nice.

Isn't the color on the eel so good? I've eaten at the Baegot branch too, and both were delicious. Since it's a chain, I wondered if they all get supplied from the same place nationwide.

Grab some lettuce and wrap it up properly~!
How to grill the eel properly

I hadn't eaten eel that many times before, so I didn't really know how to grill it. First, you need to grill it with the back facing up. (If you don't know and just grill it anywhere, once the eel suddenly curls into a U-shape, you need to flip it!!)

Instead of a U-shape, grill it so it forms a ㅅ-shape, press down gently on top of it, and grill it slowly over low heat — that's how you get it tender and delicious instead of chewy.

After that, stand the eel up and grill it front and back, then dip it generously in lettuce + ginger + black sauce for a fantastic flavor.

You can also grab various side dishes like ssamjang (dipping sauce), meat, and candied ginger.

Pork and duck neck are also unlimited refill, just like the eel. Coming here with growing kids means they can eat as much as they want with no worry about the cost. Prices are so high these days that a family meal out usually runs over ₩150,000, so eating here comfortably felt like a good choice.
The 2-hour limit and the ₩3,000 leftover fee

There's a 2-hour etiquette limit for the all-you-can-eat! Also, please note that if you leave food behind, a ₩3,000 environmental fee gets added!!
