Today I'm introducing 'Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal' near Suyu Station~ I went here when I was craving meat in the Suyu food alley. Famous for its 168-hour cold-aged whole pork belly, Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal is a Suyu Station Korean BBQ restaurant that nails both value and quality!

Is there a wait on a weekday evening?
We visited on a weekday at 7pm and were seated immediately with no wait. The place is so spacious with plenty of seating that waiting isn't much of a concern. It's also more than capable as a spot for group gatherings or company dinners!
What the restaurant looks like inside

It's a spacious, clean restaurant located inside the Suyu food alley. It's the same place as 'Eat Beef, Then Pork'! I noticed the Febreze placed out front — a thoughtful detail.

It was a hot day, but the air conditioning was strong enough to eat comfortably. With so many seats, it's perfect for family meals, group gatherings, or company dinners!
The menu and what comes with the table setting

The menu includes whole pork belly platters, whole pork neck platters, half-and-half platters, alongside sides like beef brisket doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), egg fried rice, and cheese fried rice. There's a ₩2,000 per-person table charge, but the meat prices are so reasonable it's easy to accept!

Once seated, they give you minari (water dropwort), kimchi, and bean sprouts to grill on the cauldron lid, along with sauce, scallion salad, and pickled onions.
The self-serve corner even has doenjang stew ingredients

The self-serve corner at Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal is genuinely well stocked. Beyond grilling vegetables like bean sprouts, kimchi, lettuce wraps, scallions, and onions, they also have tofu and vegetables separately set aside for the doenjang stew — a special touch. You can add stew ingredients yourself to make it heartier to your own taste!
What two people ordered and what it cost
- Aged whole pork belly platter, 600g (₩29,000)
- Beef brisket doenjang stew (₩6,900)
- Cheese fried rice (₩4,000)
- Zero-sugar cola (₩2,000)
- Table charge × 2 (₩4,000)
- Total ₩45,900
The 600g aged whole pork belly platter

This is whole pork belly cold-aged for 168 hours. Piled thick on the cauldron lid, the meat had absolutely no gamey smell — probably thanks to the cold-aging process instead of freezing.

Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with the flavor of the meat's own juices still alive. We also grabbed garlic from the self-serve corner to grill alongside it — that was a real kicker!

Bean sprouts and kimchi grill together on the edge of the cauldron lid, soaking up the meat's fat — eating these together with the pork keeps it clean and not greasy at all! Since I had work the next day, we settled for cola instead of soju.
The beef brisket doenjang stew

A rich, savory doenjang stew loaded with beef brisket. The brisket's nutty flavor seeps into the soybean paste broth for a deeply savory taste. What impressed me was being able to add as much tofu and vegetables as I wanted from the self-serve corner to make it heartier!
Finishing the meal with cheese fried rice

After grilled meat, how can you skip the K-dessert that is fried rice~ Frying the rice in the cauldron lid with leftover meat fat lets that savory oil soak into every grain, and once the cheese melts in, it turns rich and nutty. Truly the finishing touch of a cauldron-lid pork belly meal!
One tip: if you chop up the leftover meat and kimchi finely beforehand, you'll get an even more flavorful fried rice!
What was good and what fell short
- ✔️ 600g of cold-aged whole pork belly for ₩29,000 — overwhelming value
- ✔️ Clean meat quality with no gamey smell
- ✔️ Self-serve corner stocked with tofu and vegetables for the doenjang stew
- ✔️ Cauldron-lid cheese fried rice is the perfect finish
- ✔️ Spacious, well-air-conditioned restaurant
- ✔️ Parking for 5 cars right next to the restaurant
- 😅 ₩2,000 per-person table charge (understandable given how cheap the meat is!)
Final verdict on Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal
If you're looking for a Suyu Station Korean BBQ restaurant, I strongly recommend Suyu Daewang Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal. Between the clean flavor of 168-hour cold-aged whole pork belly, the well-stocked self-serve corner, and the reasonable prices, there's no better place to enjoy a meat platter in the Suyu food alley. And don't forget to finish with the cauldron-lid cheese fried rice!
