Oktopbang is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Eunpyeong, Seoul, near Gusan Station Exit 2. The writer ordered minari samgyeopsal, jaksal samgyeopsal, and snowflake mokssal, all charcoal- and straw-fire pre-grilled and finished tableside by staff who also showed sauce and vegetable pairings, then wrapped up with yeolmu bibim guksu and a complimentary kimchi jjigae. Worth a visit if you like trying pork belly in several different combinations.

Spicy chicken vindaloo and mutton masala lunch at Manokamana, Songdo

Manokamana Triple Street Branch 2 is an Indian curry restaurant in Songdo, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, right next to Gate C6 of the Triple Street mall. A couple, out for lunch after dropping the kids off, ordered chicken vindaloo and mutton masala both at full spice level, along with basmati rice, naan and butter naan, and finished everything in 30 minutes. Haemulmyeongga Donghae Haemultang is a seafood stew, seafood steam, and monkfish steam restaurant at the entrance of the seafood stew street near Bupyeong Station in Incheon. A longtime regular and her husband shared a small seafood stew and finished with two servings of fried rice instead of rice bowls. Staff cleaned and prepped the seafood so the couple could focus purely on eating, and the broth-fried rice combo was a highlight.
