The first place that comes to mind when picking tteokbokki in Ansan

What's the first thing you look for when picking a tteokbokki spot in Ansan? These days, Yum Bbokki is the first thing that comes to my mind. They only use fresh wheat rice cakes made without preservatives, and the sauce is made in-house too, so it's really good... It's the only branch in the country, and I honestly wish more would open in Ansan. Here's my visit to Yum Bbokki, an Ansan favorite!

  • Hours: Daily 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM / Last order 9:30 PM

You enter the underground parking lot following the order shown on the sign, but the passcode changes often, so it's most accurate to check with the restaurant before parking.

I parked underground, and Yum Bbokki was cutely marked in orange on the sign!

The inside is decorated with orange accents, giving it a lively feel, and tables turned over pretty quickly. It seemed like a lot of tteokbokki-loving people in Ansan come here!!!!!!!

What we ordered: basic tteokbokki and cream tteokbokki

That day we each ordered basic tteokbokki (medium spice) and cream tteokbokki, along with a fried snack set, self-made tuna rice ball, sweet cheese fries, and fish cake soup. Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was seriously so good!!!! Everything was so generous and warm 😚 Maybe because there were a lot of students there, it felt warm-hearted too,,

With the table fully set, it already looked satisfying just from the visuals 🍀

Basic tteokbokki review: plenty of broth, spicy-savory

Bowl of basic tteokbokki with plenty of broth, medium spice

The basic tteokbokki is kind of Sinjeon tteokbokki-style? The chili flavor really came through!! It had a broth-heavy style, and the spice level was medium, which was just right. Adding toppings made it even more delicious and varied 👀

⭐ Since it's a broth-heavy style, a lot of customers were adding ramen noodles — ah, I should've done that too ㅠㅠㅠ

Cream tteokbokki review: ordered with rice cakes, genuinely delicious

I ordered the cream tteokbokki with rice cakes! I was worried cream might taste bland, but it had such deep flavor and the seasoning was so good that I was genuinely surprised. The sauce is thick and pairs so well with the rice cakes that it's just delicious? Please... please... please try this one 😊😊😊

⭐ The cream tteokbokki adds cheddar cheese, cream, and milk for a smooth, rich flavor.

Tuna rice ball & fried snacks: fun to mix yourself

The visuals are great, and overall everything was so tasty that... once you come, you'll definitely come back. I know I will!!!!!

The tuna rice ball comes with rice, seaweed flakes, tuna, pickled radish, and mayo! Goes great with the tteokbokki broth ~ 😳

Three types of fried snacks: squid, kimmari, and fish cake

The fried snacks come in three types: squid, kimmari (seaweed noodle rolls), and fish cake. The oil seemed clean too, so the fried food was light and tasty ㅠ!!!

Would I go back?

If you're looking for a tteokbokki spot in Ansan, just go to Yum Bbokki, seriously an Ansan favorite.. 🌟 They deliver too.. I think I'll be ordering delivery from now on!! The place is clean, the handmade sauce is so delicious, and the owner was super kind too!
