Seongsu dessert café for cream coffee and salted bread rusk: Childish
In short
Childish is a salted bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry) and bingsu café on the second floor of a building on Yeonmujang-gil in Seongdong, Seoul, between Seongsu and Konkuk University stations. On a Saturday at 6:30pm the writer ordered the pizza salted bungeoppang, salted bread rusk, the signature Buljangnan cream coffee and an iced Americano, and the pizza bungeoppang's cross-section was packed with sweet potato mousse, pepperoni, bacon and potato. The sweet-and-salty salted bread rusk was the one thing everyone kept reaching for even after they were full.

Where to eat pizza bungeoppang in Seongsu: Childish
Hey everyone, I'm in Seongsu!! Pizza sulgi (rice cake) has been super hot lately, right?!! So while we were hunting for that we stumbled on pizza taiyaki instead haha, and we came to Childish to eat it!
Childish sits between Seongsu Station and Konkuk University Station, so it's easy to get to no matter which direction you're coming from!

You just head up to the second floor of the building marked "CHD."

Whoa~ this place doesn't just sell salted bread, they also have fresh mango bingsu, ube bingsu and other tasty shaved ice!

The entrance mat with the Childish logo is so cute haha. Push through this door and you're in the café!
Hours: closed Mondays, open Tue–Sun 11:00–21:00!
Inside Childish: interior and seating
Walking in, you get that stylish, trendy Seongsu vibe right away. Inside there are lots of big, comfortable tables, and it's really spacious!

There's even a surprisingly cute taiyaki-shaped cushion!

Saturday at 6:30pm — what bread was still left?
I visited around 6:30pm on a Saturday, so pretty late in the day, and only three kinds were left: the basic salted bread, salted bread rusk, and mini salted taiyaki.
Mini taiyaki can be bought starting from 3 pieces, and they're really, really cute~~~

Childish menu and set options
The coffee menu! From the signature Bulzzangnan ("playing with fire") coffee to chocolate latte, milky cream latte and more, there are quite a few options. I was so tired I ordered a caffeinated iced Americano, and my friend ordered the signature Bulzzangnan cream coffee!

Childish also sells a set menu — mango bingsu, salted taiyaki, iced Americano, plus a keyring — all for ₩36,000. Looked like it'd be plenty for three or even four people to share haha.

And the taiyaki lineup goes from the plain salted taiyaki to the cheese bacon potato sweet potato pizza salted taiyaki,, all the way to the mammoth chewy salted taiyaki — three kinds total!

They also have cute stickers.
There's a Philippine-style ube bingsu they apparently developed after a trip with mom, plus Taiwanese-style mango bingsu and cup bingsu. It was a bit chilly so I skipped it, but looking at it now I really want some haha.
And off to the side there are these adorable little props! A cart piled high with breads.

Why is it called Buljangnan ("playing with fire") cream coffee?
Our drinks came out first. The cup design was so hip haha. There was the iced Americano and the Bulzzangnan cream latte! I wondered why it's called "playing with fire" — turns out they torch the marshmallow on top, hence the name.

The coffee filled a big mug, and the cup design was hip too, which I liked.

You could immediately tell the iced Americano used good beans — nutty and full of flavor — while the Bulzzangnan cream coffee had a cinnamon taste with soft, sweet cream that was really tasty. If you like sweet, cinnamon-flavored coffee, this one's probably a crowd-pleaser.

Salted bread rusk: the sweet-and-salty bite you keep reaching for
Salted bread rusk! I really love these little pickable snacks and this one was exactly my type haha. Crisply baked salted bread coated in sugar — sweet and salty at once — my hand just kept going back for more ㅜㅜㅜ

Seriously right up my alley... an endlessly moreish flavor haha. Crispy, sweet and delicious — this thing kept going in even after I was full,,, lol

What's inside the pizza salted bungeoppang?
And the pizza salted taiyaki — honestly this is what I came all the way here for~ Pizza sulgi and the like are all the rage these days, so we settled for pizza taiyaki instead,, but honestly the pizza salted taiyaki is even better.

Cutting into it, the inside was packed full of sweet potato mousse, pepperoni, bacon and potato, baked crisp and golden — I was genuinely moved haha. It tasted like pizza itself, maybe even better than pizza. This pizza taiyaki kept popping into my head afterward.

They also thoughtfully gave us some tasty Purtel jelly, and there were testers for things like Nuu Bo hair oil, lotion and hand cream set up almost like an Olive Young.
