A must-stop spot when you're out at Hangang Park or Seonyudo! Double bacon cheeseburger at BAS Burger Seonyudo
Right after coming back from a hectic work trip to China, this was the place I ran to — haha. Since my last course in the Northeast was spicy Korean food, this time I went for something Western.
Where is BAS Burger Seonyudo, and what are its hours?
BAS Burger Seonyudo is a handmade burger restaurant at 118-1 Yangpyeong-ro, 1st floor, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's open 08:00–21:30 with last order at 21:00, and you can park at the nearby public parking lot.
Seonyudo is right near my place, so I often swing by on drives, and this time I headed to BAS Burger, which I'd heard makes great handmade burgers — haha.
Inside BAS Burger Seonyudo: seating and table kiosk ordering

I saw a lot of families and dating couples picking up takeout. ❤️

Inside, it's decked out in pretty hip neon signs, just like an American burger place.

There's a kiosk at every table, so ordering is quick and easy — we picked the BAS Burger set and the double bacon cheeseburger.

The sauce bar: 5+ sauces to mix at BAS Burger Seonyudo
What I liked most about BAS Burger Seonyudo is that you can mix and match 5+ sauces to your own taste. I love handmade burgers and have been to plenty of places, but what's unusual about BAS Burger is that you can tailor the sauce combo to your own palate!

BBQ, honey mustard, BAS Burger house sauce, ranch, pollack roe mayo — I loved being able to pick and taste whatever I wanted.

And the James fries are unlimited, so warm fries as a beer snack — let's go. James fries with ketchup or mayo is pure bliss.

How does the BAS Burger set taste?
The BAS Burger set and double bacon cheeseburger set showed up right after we ordered!

The BAS Burger delivers the classic, rich flavor of a handmade burger done right — haha.

The fresh, savory beef patty comes with melted American cheese and lettuce, and the crunch is so good — hahaha. The tomato especially pairs well with the patty, and it's a perfect match with the bun too.

How does the double bacon cheeseburger taste?
The double bacon cheeseburger is my favorite — the vegetable content approaches zero (!), and it's characterized by a juicy patty and bacon packed with smoky flavor, lol. It's heavy and hefty, but the rich cheese oozing out between the thick patties and the salty umami of the bacon are amazing. It's a great taste for those days when you want something greasy after the gym.

Fries and onion rings: the best side combo
To go along with the burgers, I also ordered fries and onion rings. Golden, crisply fried fries, and onion rings with sweet, moist juice bursting from sliced whole onions!

They went great alongside the BAS Burger. I think what's great about handmade burgers is the addictive umami of a beef patty grilled fresh to order (!) and the freedom to customize lettuce, tomato and house sauces — that's the big difference from your usual chain burger joint.

Thanks to going hard at the gym, I've been steadily losing a bit of weight, but of course, even eating American-style food occasionally still packs on the pounds — haha. And since I'm heading back to China again in a few days, I'll try to manage my diet with one cheat meal a day.
Since I was going to enjoy it anyway, rather than eating it plain, it's tastier with BAS Burger sauces. I drizzled and dipped it in BBQ sauce, BAS Burger sauce and ranch sauce.

BAS Burger Seonyudo is a great place to stop by for takeout on a summer visit to Seonyudo — here's my review after trying the double bacon cheeseburger and BAS Burger set — hehe.
A tasty handmade burger spot great for going with a partner or friends — BAS Burger Seonyudo! Haha.
