Cheonan's budae-jjigae favorite, Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch! Review time, let's go~~!

How close is it to Dujeong Station, and is there parking?

It's located in Dujeong-dong! Pretty close to Dujeong Station too, so it's fine to reach by public transit, and it's not far from the Dujeong-dong restaurant strip, so it's easy to pop in when you're looking for a place to eat.

There's parking right in front of the restaurant, but the space isn't very generous, so if it's full, roadside parking nearby is recommended~~!

There's also a ₩2,000 takeout discount and a free egg roll event running right now~~!
Weekend lunch atmosphere and the self-serve bar

Once inside, the overall vibe is clean and comfortable for a meal!

I went during weekend lunch and there were seriously so many people... every table but one was full, so we barely got a seat! This is a popular spot, so brace yourself for waiting at peak times~~

There's also a room space in the back, so group meals are possible~~~!

Another perk of Cheongwon Restaurant! Ramen noodle sari and rice are free refills :) You can grab side dishes from the self-serve bar too, along with rice and ramen sari :)
What's the difference between Cheongwon budae-jjigae and Songtan budae-jjigae?

There are two signature budae-jjigae options on the menu! Cheongwon budae-jjigae and Songtan budae-jjigae. Cheongwon budae-jjigae is the Songtan-base stew with beef belly and cheongyang chili added for a spicy kick! Songtan budae-jjigae sticks to the classic Songtan-style basics :)
After some deliberation, we ordered the Songtan budae-jjigae for two plus a beef belly sari add-on!

There's also a takeout discount on the budae-jjigae

They use two-plus grade Korean beef ground meat, so it's a trustworthy spot for the quality of the meat :)

There's also a review event running, so it might be worth joining for a free egg roll!
The taste of Songtan budae-jjigae with added beef belly sari

First, the side dishes! You get kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and stir-fried fish cake.

This stir-fried fish cake is sweet and delicious — total rice thief :)

After a short wait, the budae-jjigae comes out in a big pot! Don't open it before it boils — wait, and the staff will open and stir it for you.
Ta-da~~ the pot is packed full of ingredients, so it looks completely hearty right off the bat!!
With ham, sausage, and ground meat all in there, plus the added beef belly sari, the amount of meat is definitely generous haha
And budae-jjigae really does get better the longer it simmers :) As the salty flavor from the ham and sausage mixes with the ground meat, the broth itself feels rich and savory!

Take a spoonful of rice with the broth and it just slides right in. The broth has that distinctive salty, deep umami that pairs perfectly with rice! And I should mention we were too full to even try the ramen noodle sari.....
To sum up
With free refills on rice and ramen sari, if you visit hungry, you can really leave stuffed! If you're looking for a solid Korean meal in Dujeong-dong or a budae-jjigae favorite in Cheonan, head to Cheongwon Restaurant~~! Thanks for the meal, Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch!!!!!!!!!!!
