Indian restaurant on Jeongja-dong café street: set for two at Kari
In short
Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch is an Indian restaurant in the basement of the Dongyang Paragon building on the Jeongja-dong café street in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered the KARI Couple Set (56,000 won base), which brought vegetable pakora, shrimp paneer salad, half a tandoor chicken, garlic naan, butter chicken, strawberry lassi and yogurt ice cream in one go. For a first visit, when choosing just one curry feels like a waste, the couple set at Kari was an easy call.

Today's story is about Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch, a Bundang / Jeongja spot I visited because I was craving Indian curry on the Jeongja-dong café street. I was looking for somewhere near Jeongja Station where I could get curry, naan and tandoori chicken all together, and this place caught my eye — it was selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey in 2026 and runs as a certified model restaurant, so I was curious. Instead of ordering several dishes separately, we went with the KARI Couple Set so the two of us could try a bit of everything.

Where is Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch, and what are the hours?
Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch is located at 230 Jeongja-illo, Dongyang Paragon Bldg 105, B1, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's open 11:00–21:30 with last order at 21:00, has no break time, is open year-round, and offers 2 hours of free parking.
No break time even on weekdays is a real plus. It's handy for eating at that awkward hour between lunch and dinner, or for a late lunch. Not having to worry about a break time on a day I'm craving Indian curry near Jeongja Station was nice.
Kari, a 2026 Blue Ribbon pick
Kari was selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey in 2026. It also operates as a certified model restaurant, and apparently the chefs each have over 10 years of experience at 5-star hotels in India. Another point of pride is that they use fresh spices from the Tamil region, famous as India's spice heartland. Maybe that's why, from the moment I stepped in to the food itself, the place felt like it captured more of an authentic Indian atmosphere than your typical curry restaurant.

There's also a takeout event running right now.
Inside Kari: dining room and private room

Once inside, the place was bigger and cleaner than I expected. Rather than being flashy all over just because it's Indian food, it had an exotic yet modern vibe together, which made it comfortable to eat in.

There are table seats as well as a private room, so it looked good both for a couple's date and for a family meal or gathering. When I visited, quite a few people seemed to be using the room for family or friend get-togethers. It'd also work well as a group dinner spot near Jeongja Station. Given the location, right on the Jeongja-dong café street where you can head to a nearby café afterward, I imagine plenty of people pick it as a date course too.
Kari's menu and prices

Kari has a wide range of dishes, from Indian curries to naan and tandoori chicken. There are curries like butter chicken and tikka masala, plus a setup where you can pair tandoori dishes with naan. I thought about ordering dish by dish but decided I wanted to try a few things this time, so we went with the KARI Couple Set at ₩56,000 base.

What comes in the KARI Couple Set for 56,000 won
The couple set had a more varied lineup than I expected.
- Vegetable Pakora
- KARI Shrimp Paneer Salad
- Tandoor Chicken Half
- Garlic Naan
- Plain Rice
- Butter Chicken
- Strawberry Lassi
- Diet Coke
- Dessert
Getting all of this in one set made it an easy choice for a first visit when the two of us wanted to try a bit of everything.

After ordering, the dishes started arriving one by one before long. First came the Vegetable Pakora. As an Indian-style vegetable fritter, it was crispy on the outside and packed with vegetables, making it a nice light bite before the curry and tandoori chicken. Best of all, it arrived piping hot, so we got to enjoy it fresh out of the fryer.

Having the shrimp salad alongside meant the meal wasn't all heavy dishes back to back, which I appreciated. Especially while eating curry and naan, you start craving something refreshing partway through, and having the salad in the set meant we didn't need to add one separately. The cheese on top is apparently house-made Indian-style paneer. That fresh cheese flavor upgraded the whole salad.

For drinks: strawberry lassi and Diet Coke!
An Indian restaurant meal feels incomplete without lassi, and this time it was strawberry, so it was sweet and smooth to sip alongside the food. There was a lot of strawberry pulp in it, so I stirred it well before drinking. It's not an unfamiliar flavor, so it's a lassi anyone could enjoy.
Half a tandoor chicken

Trying tandoori chicken is a must whenever I go to an Indian restaurant, so I was glad the couple set included half a chicken. From the reddish look alone it had that distinctive tandoori chicken feel, and since it's roasted in a clay oven, you could faintly catch the spice aroma on the surface. It was a reasonable portion for two to share, and since it tasted quite different from the curries, eating it in between made the whole spread feel even more varied.
Drizzling on the house-made mango sauce gave it yet another flavor entirely — a real taste of India.
Butter chicken with garlic naan

Butter chicken is one of the milder Indian curries, so it's an easy pick even for people who aren't used to Indian food. The sauce is smooth and rich, so tearing off pieces of Garlic Naan and dipping them in worked really well. It comes topped with cilantro, and apparently they'll leave it off if you ask. There were also big chunks of chicken in the curry, so there was plenty to chew on too.

For naan, we ordered garlic naan. It arrived warm and was fine on its own, but it's definitely best eaten with the curry. The subtle garlic flavor in the naan paired well with the butter chicken sauce too. Baked in a clay oven, it came out warm and tore apart with a nice chewy texture.

The couple set also lets you choose rice, so we picked 1 naan and 1 rice. We dipped naan in the butter chicken, then spooned curry over the rice, then had a bite of tandoori chicken, then went back to the naan — rotating through everything made for a pretty hearty meal. If we'd ordered just one curry it might have felt a bit lacking, so I really liked that the couple set let us taste several things together.

The final dessert was a cool yogurt ice cream — a refreshing way to wrap things up.
Is the couple set at Kari worth it?
If you're searching for Bundang restaurants, Jeongja restaurants, or restaurants near Jeongja Station and want something different from your usual go-to, Indian curry is a solid choice. If you're planning a date or family meal on the Jeongja-dong café street, it's worth checking out Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch, which also has a private room. Next time, I'd like to skip the couple set and try a different curry-and-naan combination.
