In short

Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch is a Japanese home-style restaurant on the Misa riverside in Hanam, Gyeonggi, with baby-only dishes like baby bulgogi rice and baby cheese pork cutlet for family meals. The writer ordered the shaved-ice soba with two king shrimp tempura for 14,900 won and the 100% fresh cream mentaiko pasta for 17,900 won, finding the shrimp crispy and the udon-noodle pasta chewy. A solid pick for a light, easy family meal out.

A long-time favorite in Misa where every dish is a hit and there's even a baby menu, making it great for family gatherings — Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch.

An atmosphere like a neighborhood spot in a Japanese back alley

It's a cute, cozy restaurant. Since it's modeled on Japanese home cooking, it really feels like it could be tucked into some alley in Japan, doesn't it?

Even at night, it seems like you could have a really atmospheric meal here.

There are about 6 tables for 2-4 people. It's not a huge interior, but the high ceilings and nice interior design make it feel tidy and pleasant.

You can see the busy open kitchen at work. At Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch, cooking starts as soon as you order, so it might take a little time.

The server guided us quickly, accurately, and kindly, so I felt good the whole time we were served :)

There's also a restroom inside the restaurant, for reference.

Once you're seated, they set out a cute little water kettle and utensils.

An illustrated menu that made choosing easy

There are so many dishes that look delicious, you could call every single one a best-seller. Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch has illustrations for every menu item, which really helped when deciding.

When the food actually arrived, it really did look exactly like the pictures haha. I think I spent a good while just browsing the menu.

Roi Sikdang says it uses Gyeongju Samgwang rice and Sindongjin rice, and cooks the rice with natural bedrock water from Jirisan.

The single-dish and set compositions are also clearly explained with illustrations.

The highball illustrations are really detailed too haha. The moment I saw how good the highball looked, I had to really hold back from having a daytime drink 😂

They have a separate baby menu

Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch has a separate baby menu too.

  • Baby bulgogi rice
  • Baby cheese pork cutlet

Among the regular dishes, there are already plenty that are great for sharing with kids, but having these as standalone items too means you can order them easily and comfortably.

All ordering is done via kiosk.

Such a tiny nice detail haha — it doubles as a decor piece and a corner for kids. The owner's sense of style really shows 😉

Shaved-ice soba with 2 king shrimp tempura, ₩14,900

Shaved-ice soba topped with 2 king shrimp tempura

The moment the bowl arrived, exactly matching its name, I overheard the next table say 'I should've ordered that...' lol. It really did come with 2 king shrimp tempura and soba over shaved ice.

The portion wasn't small at all — my husband finished it and said he was full. The shrimp was really crispy and savory. It's the perfect match for soba.

The pickled radish side dish that came with it was also great since it wasn't too salty. It went really well with the soba.

100% fresh cream mentaiko pasta (basic), ₩17,900

A plate of 100% fresh cream mentaiko pasta

For the dish I ordered, they also gave instructions on the best way to enjoy it.

Instructions on how to best enjoy the mentaiko pasta

They say you should mix in the premium 'Deokhwa mentaiko (pollock roe)' well with the cream sauce. Maybe because it's 100% fresh cream, it was really smooth and savory, and once I mixed in the mentaiko on top, the umami was maximized and it got even more delicious.

Pasta with mentaiko mixed into the cream sauce

I usually like thick, creamy pasta, and this one was seasoned really well, which I loved. The noodles were unusually made of udon, so the pasta had an extra chewy texture I really enjoyed.

Overall, the portions at Roi Sikdang aren't small. It felt like being treated to a really hearty meal. The pickles served alongside the pasta were also really good.

Receipt review event

There's also a Naver receipt review event running. You get either 1 piece of shrimp/kimmari tempura or a canned drink as a gift. Writing a photo or text review is required. (The tempura is delicious, so make sure to sign up and try it ✅)

How was it for a family meal?

The alley the restaurant is in wasn't crowded, and the overall vibe was as relaxed as a home, so I could fully enjoy the food. It's a kid-friendly restaurant, perfect for family gatherings. If you're thinking of a light meal out that won't feel too heavy, I'd recommend it. That's Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch.
